“Bobby Yay Yay Jones former Crip from The Imperial Courts Housing Projects ( known as The P*e Jay Watts Crips ) uses his unique style of poetry to bring his readers into his reality. A reality where misguided youth roam desperately looking for purpose and identity, a reality where violence, substance dependency, gang banging, and homicides is prevalent, a reality of unfulfilled dreams, abandonment, trauma, and social and economical oppression. Bobby masterfully creates these vivid pieces that adequately depicts urban living in destitute communities where misfortune, mental illnesses, and trauma seems to linger for generations. Where the youth lack guidance so they live their lives according to rap songs, where law enforcement terrorizes people of color, and the government creates conditions and circumstances to perpetuate the cycle of miseducation, violence, and poverty. This is a must read for all poetry lovers. Never have I ever read poetry that is so profound that it made feel as if I personally experienced what it is like to live in survive in the ghetto. Here is a book of poem to introduce you to the truth of urban living by Bobby Yay Yay Jones writer, victims advocate, producer, and community activists.”

Definitely one of the books I’ll be gifting out!!
