Jessica Howard Memorial Scholarship, Inc. a non-profit organization This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior at Etowah High School, Attalla, Alabama in loving memory of Jessica Lynn Howard (7/16/1986-7/26/2003).

The Jessica Howard Memorial Scholarship started after Jessica Howard’s life was unexpectedly ended in an automobile accident on July 26, 2003. Jessica was such a loving, kind and unique individual. Her family and friends miss her so very much. One of the Howard family’s friends, Senator Larry Means, made the suggestion that there should be a scholarship awarded to one of Jessica’s classmates gradu

ating from Etowah High School in the Class of 2004 in Jessica’s memory and so the Jessica Howard Memorial Scholarship began. In the beginning, the Jessica Howard Memorial Scholarship provided $1,500 for tuition, books and fees at Gadsden State Community College. However, since the amount of the scholarship has varied depending on the funds available and now the check is issued directly to the scholarship winner no matter what college they will be attending.
