Hello Neighbors!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of you all and local organizations and businesses, our inaugural pet blessing box has been absolutely THRIVING . . . so much so that our cat food and large dog food supplies are running low! That's actually a good "problem" to have because it is proof that this little corner of the City of Doraville is making a real difference for pets in need! 🐱🐶

If you have cat food or large dog food to spare, we'd love for you to stop by and add to the love! Our box isn't just a resource but it's also a work of community art thanks to DArt: Doraville Art, a place of connection to pet welfare resources (just scan the QR code on the sign!), and every donation you drop off is part of something bigger. ✨

The dogs and cats of Doraville thank you in advance! 🐱🐶

If you’ve ever lost a pet, you know the heartbreak. 💔

And sometimes, seeing their food, toys, treats, bowls, beds—all of those little things that were theirs in life—can be a painful reminder of that loss. 😢

But sometimes, those same beloved items can become part of something beautiful.

Bella’s Blessings boxes offer a simple, quiet way to donate your pet’s items in their memory, helping another pet in need. There’s no paperwork, no need to explain, and no pressure to share a story that may still hurt. You can simply leave the items in your local Pet Blessing Box and know that your baby’s love is being passed forward. 💓

And if you do want to share the story behind your donation, we are always honored to hear it.

This past weekend, Goldendoodle Tommy and his family visited our Brook Park Blessing Box to donate a very special item: a water bowl that belonged to Tommy’s brother, Tito. 🐶

Tito bravely fought osteosarcoma before crossing the Rainbow Bridge this past Fall. His family shared that "Tommy wanted to give his favorite bowl to the box to help others.”

Whoever receives Tito’s bowl will receive more than a pet item. They’ll receive a piece of his valiant, steady, loving spirit—and a reminder that love does not end when our pets leave us. ✨

Somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge, we believe Tito is smiling, knowing his family loved him so much that they chose to let his memory bless another dog. 🌈

Thank you to Tommy and Tito’s family for sharing this beautiful act of love with us. 💙

Hi Friends! Orphan Annie Rescue sure could use some help with funding for 8 adorable and medically-needy dogs they took into their care last weekend!🐶 Our Founder, Jen, notes that Orphan Annie is an incredible rescue who years ago took on and adopted out a hard-to-place mastiff/pittie who had been returned to and transferred from another rescue. They placed her with an amazing family who loved her for the rest of her life! 🎉 If you can donate anything, they sure would appreciate! 🥰🐶

We deliberately leave our pet blessing boxes primed, but unpainted so that the community they will live in can paint it with their own special touch. 🎨 We don’t dictate what the design should look like, but wait to be delighted by community’s artists. And, delighted we were when we saw the Brook Park pet blessing box painted by DArt: Doraville Art! 🌟

The design is a nod to the cultural richness of Doraville, and it’s fittingly titled “Feasts for Beasts.” 🐱🐶🦜

Artist Sarah Marks’ design and D’Art’s artistry combined to create a pet blessing box that is a piece of community art and we are so appreciative of them donating their time, materials, and talent for the Doraville community!!!🩷

WOW. We did it, City of Doraville !🐾✨

Our First and Fill ceremony at Brook Park on April 10th was everything we dreamed it would be—and then some! Residents showed up. Dogs showed up (the cutest ones!). Community leaders, partners, and friends showed up. And together, we unveiled Bella's Blessings' very first pet blessing box—stocked full of goodies for dogs and cats and ready to serve the pets and people of Doraville. 💜

But, this moment didn't happen overnight. It happened because of dedication and community.

➡ It got its spark because Commissioner Michelle Long Spears encouraged our Founder to turn her idea into something real — and had her staff sit down and brainstorm with us.

➡ It started with a small but mighty Board of Directors who've been heads-down since December—building boxes, forging partnerships, liaising with artists, managing our finances, and doing whatever it took to make this real.

➡ It grew because City of Doraville believed in us enough to become the first city to host a pet blessing box, and worked alongside us every step of the way on the legal, operational, and communications side of bringing this to life.

➡ It found its first home because NANA - the Northwoods Area Neighborhood Association raised their hand and said: yes, we want to steward a box! They are our very first steward organization.

➡ It was beautified because DArt: Doraville Art poured their heart into our box—which we intentionally leave unpainted so each community can make it their own. Brook Park now has meaningful, one-of-a-kind community art. 🎨

➡ It got built because 2M Construction donated their time and materials to design, build, and install our boxes. What a gift!

➡ And, it got stocked because World Wide Sign Systems, City Dog MarketBrookhaven, and Planned PEThood of GA donated an incredible amount of pet food and supplies.

➡ Thank you to LifeLine Animal Project and PAWS Atlanta for lending your presence and your belief in our mission. Thank you to every Doraville resident who came to donate or receive--you are exactly who this is for.

➡ And thank you to our photographer Atlanta Photography with Katie Tarver for capturing every moment. 📸

This is just the beginning! 🎉
