So for now, we pause.
We smile at what’s ahead.
We rest in the knowing that something meaningful is on its way.

Good things don’t always arrive loudly.
Sometimes they arrive softly… right on time.

Tonight carries a small, happy secret.
Something meaningful is taking shape, gently and on its own time.
No big reveal yet—just a knowing smile, a deep breath, and a quiet sense of joy.

This moment isn’t about rushing or proving anything.
It’s about enjoying the space between almost and already.
Letting anticipation feel good, easy, and full of possibility.

I gave up seeing Frankie Beverly, in Vegas at the MGM Grand, to spend time with my Dad, and that was a few years before he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, so I am so glad I did. Even though I love Frankie Beverly and I love his music, and I am sorry that he’s not here to make more wonderful music, I am not sorry that I gave up my ticket to see him to spend time with my dad.

At the time, it felt like a simple choice. I could see Frankie another time, I told myself. But time with my father felt different. It felt necessary. Looking back now, I understand why. Those moments became memories I hold tightly—conversations, laughter, quiet time that didn’t feel urgent then, but means everything now.

Alzheimer’s has a way of rearranging what matters. It teaches you, sometimes painfully, that presence is more valuable than plans, and that shared time is a gift you don’t always realize you’re receiving in the moment. I didn’t know what was coming, but I listened to my heart anyway—and I’m grateful I did.

Frankie Beverly gave us music that will live on. My father gave me something just as lasting: time, love, and moments I will never regret choosing. Some decisions don’t need explaining. They only need remembering.

If you’re standing at a crossroads today, unsure of what to choose, let this be your reminder: when love calls, answer it. The memories will carry you long after the music fades.

If today asked a lot of you, it’s okay to give a little back to yourself now.
A deep breath.
A softer pace.
A gentle reminder that you matter, too.

This is your Pause.
Nothing heavy.
Nothing urgent.
Just a moment to exhale and let the day settle.

You don’t have to do anything with this moment.
Just notice it.

A breath.
A small ease.
A quiet reminder that you’re allowed to slow down, too.
That’s enough for now.

If you’re staying indoors because the weather has slowed everything down, let’s call this what it is: a reset you didn’t plan, but can still make the most of.
These days at home don’t have to feel heavy.
They can be softer.
Simpler.
A little kinder.
If you’re caring for someone right now, take the pressure off.
Keep things easy.
Laugh when you can.
Rest when the house grows quiet.
And if the power flickers or plans change, remember—you’re doing the best you can, and that is enough.
Build in small pauses throughout the day.
A warm drink.
A shared story.
A moment to sit and breathe.
This pause isn’t about waiting things out.
It’s about finding comfort right where you are.
Stay warm.
Stay patient.
And let this moment be gentler than you expected.

Today is a good day to pause.
Not because you’re tired—
but because you’re alive, present, and worthy of a moment to take it all in.
Pause to breathe deeper.
Pause to smile wider.
Pause to remember how much strength already lives inside you.
You don’t have to wait for everything to settle to feel joy.
You don’t have to earn peace by pushing harder.
The Pause is an invitation to celebrate the now—
this breath, this moment, this version of you.
Take it.
Feel it.
Let it fuel you forward.
Pause.
