Homelessness doesn't always look the way you might expect. Sometimes it looks like a mother working two jobs and the ends still don't meet. Sometimes it looks like a child doing homework on a motel bed this month. Out of the backseat of the minivan next. And sometimes it looks like a family doing everything right - but still struggling to find a place they can afford to call home.
In Metro Atlanta, there are only 27 affordable and available rental homes for every 100 extremely low-income households. In Cobb County, 2,600 students are homeless just like this. Thousands of families are caught in an impossible gap and it's not right.
These are not strangers. They're the CNAs drawing your blood at your doctor's office. The teachers aides helping our kids learn. They're the workers who keep our communities running every day.
The Cobb we don't see is often serving the Cobb we do.
At Bridge Communities, we're working to create safe, stable housing solutions that help families move from surviving to thriving. We call that giving them . Everybody needs that.
