Support Healing in Schools This Holiday Season!

At RCPVermont, our facilitators volunteer their time to provide vital training in restorative practice, compassionate communication, and trauma-informed healing. Participants pay what they can, ensuring our programs remain accessible to all.

This year, weโ€™re bringing our mission into schools, helping keep kids in the classroom and off the streets. By fostering empathy and teaching conflict resolution, weโ€™re building safer, more supportive learning environments for students and educators.

๐ŸŽ This holiday season, give the gift of healing. Your donation strengthens our community and helps create a brighter future for our youth. Every contribution matters! ๐ŸŽ

Restorative Schools in Retributive Communities

Several years ago, Dr. Dorinne Dorfman introduced Restorative practices to Leland and Gray Union High School in Townshend, Vermont. The benefits of this practice were immediately obvious, and Dan Dewalt, founder and executive director of Restorative Community Justice of Southern Vermont, was convinced. He pursued these restorative practices in order to promote them and make them widely accepted and used in local communities. โ€œA restorative school system,โ€ Dewalt writes, โ€œcannot make up for a retributive community mind-set.โ€ RCJSV was formed to bring restorative thinking and practice into the daily routines of every person on the planet, starting with Southern Vermont.
