🎓📚 DOUBLE THE EFFORT with DEGREES AND DIAPERS 👨🏾‍🎓👩🏽‍🎓🎓

The Krewe of Ousia Carnival and Social Aid Club Inc. is beyond excited to announce a special opportunity for the resilient single parents of Atlanta! 🍑✨
Through our "Double the Effort with Degrees and Diapers" scholarship initiative, we are awarding two incredible student-parents a $600 Gift Card to help ease the load of juggling a degree and a family. One winner will be chosen for Fall 2026 and another for Spring 2027!

Are You Eligible?
We are looking for applicants who meet the following:
• ✅ Single Parent (Mother or Father)
• ✅ Age 17–30
• ✅ Full-Time Student at an Atlanta college or university.
• ✅ GPA of 2.6+ (Cumulative)
• ✅ Committed to both your education and your children!

• Required: Must upload a current unofficial transcript and essay.

We are Krewe of Ousia — Atlanta's newest social & aid krewe, bringing the cultural traditions and spirit of Mardi Gras, the Royal Festivities that come along with it, the soul of an “authentic" crawfish boil and the epitome of excellence to the A.

We're not just throwing events. We're building a movement. A community. A vibe that ATL and NOLA represents, which is FLAVA!

And it gets a little spicy on June 14th.

I am deeply proud to introduce myself as the Founder, Captain and Empress Regnant of the Krewe of Ousia Carnival and Social Aid Club Inc.—the very first institution of its kind in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Growing up on the Westbank of New Orleans, I was raised on the "Social Aid" philosophy: that we owe it to one another to protect our culture and provide for our community, all while celebrating life with an unmatched elegance. Ousia means "true essence," and that is exactly what I’m bringing to this city—a chic, intentional fusion of NOLA’s soulful grit and Atlanta’s sophisticated hustle. This is more than a new organization; it’s a cultural bridge, a personal legacy, and a formal invitation to experience the substance behind the celebration. ⚜️🍑💜
