Alpha Pi Chapter - ΣΛΥ/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. Alpha Pi Chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. at Georgia State U was founded in the Fall of 2012 by 12 amazing women.

The Alpha Pi Chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señortias Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. Our chapter strives to help our community through programming and community service that helps empower all women.

🐈‍⬛Why SLU?: I’ve always strongly believed in giving a voice to marginalized communities. Creating a safe space where we can thrive, connect, and prosper. SLU inspired me, as they align with everything I’ve always stood for. Striving to always uphold the importance of Sincerity, Loyalty, and Unity. Creating genuine connections, leadership, and giving back to the community, I just knew this was for me. I remember never even considering the possibility of joining a sorority. However, going to one event and meeting all of the Hermana’s, I instantly knew I wanted to be apart of this beautiful sisterhood. The way each of them carried themselves, embodied powerful women with a purpose. The undergraduate Hermana’s, were always so welcoming and genuine, whenever talking to them. I will forever be thankful especially for these amazing women, inspiring me to embark on this beautiful journey. They made my heart so warm getting to know them, and solidified my aspirations to join SLU. I am eternally grateful for my everyone I met along the way, and am beyond blessed to be apart of my Hermandad!

🔮Future Plans: I plan to get my PharmD in the near future. Wanting to specialize in ambulatory care or compounding. I’ve always loved the city, so in the future you’ll probably catch me residing in New York one day! But I would love to travel more, see the gems of our world!

💃🏽Meet Mu Line’s Deuce!! H. Jenny 💃🏽

📚Major: Marketing
🐈‍⬛Why SLU:Growing up as one of the only Latinas in my classrooms, I was constantly searching for a space where I felt seen, understood, and empowered within my own identity. I longed for a community of women who were not only academically driven, but who carried the same resilience, ambition, and desire for something greater. I was first introduced to SLU through a scholarship, where I saw strong, confident Latinas standing together with purpose. In that moment, I realized there was a possibility of belonging to something that would not only grow me academically and personally but create impact for other strong women.

But what truly changed everything for me was meeting two Hermanas. I saw their authenticity, their growth, and the genuine impact SLU had on their lives. They didn’t just speak about sisterhood. I saw how they uplifted one another through personal experiences and academic support, how they poured into their communities through literacy and service, and how they moved with intention in everything they did. Since starting my process, it reminded me that growth comes from facing the uncomfortable and unknown even if you fail or cannot control the outcome. Facing the world with pride of my decisions and my background. Life is hard, but SLU has helped me harness resilience and navigate it with strength, purpose, and sisterhood.

🔮Future plans: My future plans are centered on building a career in business management and marketing, with a focus on using data analytics to drive meaningful and strategic decisions. I want to work on projects that shape brands, support business growth, and create impact within underrepresented communities. As a first-generation Latina, I want to be in a position where I can open doors for others, just as doors have been opened for me.
