Did you know that June is Dairy Month? 🥛🧀

We are thankful for partners like Trader Joe’s in Peachtree City who help us provide nutritious dairy products to families in need. Through their generosity, we are able to receive extra cheese, milk, yogurt, and other dairy items for distribution through our nonprofit partner network.

Access to fresh and nutritious food makes a meaningful difference for the individuals and families we serve. Thank you, Trader Joe’s, for helping us gift hope through food!

We are incredibly thankful to Apostolic Christian HarvestCall for the donation of a truckload of beans to Midwest Food Bank Georgia! Beans are shelf-stable, high in protein, and provide strong nutritional value for families facing food insecurity.

At Midwest Food Bank, we are intentional about the quality of food we distribute. We monitor the food we distribute according to HER (Healthy Eating Research) Guidelines and track the nutritional value of the food shared with our partner agencies each month to help ensure we are providing food that is not just easy to distribute, but truly nourishing for the individuals and families being served.

Thank you, Apostolic Christian HarvestCall, for helping us provide healthy and meaningful resources to communities across the Southeast!

Our volunteers make a difference in the fight against hunger! ❤️

One of our very special group of volunteers are our Volunteer Leaders. These dedicated individuals are trained to guide groups serving through food packing and processing projects.

We believe that educating our volunteers increases awareness of our mission and the impact of our work. We are so thankful for the Volunteer Leaders who have taken the time to learn about our mission, values, and goals so they can confidently share our story with the groups they lead!

We are so thankful for our volunteers in Mount Juliet and their continued partnership as a remote distribution site for Midwest Food Bank Georgia serving Middle Tennessee.

Today, we celebrated an incredible milestone together — over $3 million worth of food distributed FREE into the community!

We are grateful for the volunteers, supporters, and partners who make this impact possible and thankful to celebrate with the team at today’s loadout.

One of the unique things about Midwest Food Bank is our ability to rescue food that might otherwise end up in a landfill and redirect it into the hands of people in need.

Some of the products we receive are “brites” — canned goods without labels. While the labels were never attached, the cans are coded so we know exactly what product is inside. Our volunteers then step in to label the cans so they can be distributed to our nonprofit partners.

Canned goods are always in high demand because they are shelf-stable and can be used when families need them most.

Through food rescue, volunteerism, and strong partnerships, we are able to reduce waste while helping feed communities across the Southeast.
