September 9th is Dawn Southern’s birthday, and this year she is raising money for the AGL Over the Rainbow Foundation.

As Alex’s mom, this foundation is very close to Dawn’s heart. It was created to honor Alex’s life and carry forward his love for the arts.

Since 2019, the AGL Over the Rainbow Foundation has awarded over100 scholarships to students pursuing college degrees in the fine and performing arts. Every donation helps us continue Alex’s legacy and support another young artist as they pursue their dreams. 💚

Help us celebrate Dawn’s birthday by making a donation:

Congratulations to the 2026 AGL Over The Rainbow Foundation Scholarship Recipients!

This year, we received an incredible 460 scholarship applications from talented students pursuing their dreams in the fine and performing arts. After a thoughtful and thorough review process, we are proud to announce our eight scholarship recipients:

🎭 Marfa Baratova
🎭 Alexandra Guerrero
🎭 Gulse Polat
🎭 Cooper Self
🎭 Quinn Cracolice
🎭 Nicholas Urmaza
🎭 Xitlali Ramirez
🎭 Maggie Dinstuhl

These remarkable young adults are headed to some amazing colleges, including Berklee College of Music, Carnegie Mellon University, New York University, and other outstanding institutions. We are so proud of each of them and excited to see where their talents, dedication, and hard work take them.

Selecting recipients is never easy. Every year, we are inspired by the passion, creativity, and determination demonstrated by hundreds of students from across the country. While we wish we could support every applicant, we are honored to invest in these eight talented artists as they begin the next chapter of their journey.

This is our "why."

One of Alex's goals in life was simple but powerful. In his senior project speech, he said:

"I will always try to change someone's life with theatre."

Through these scholarships, we hope to continue that spirit by helping young adults pursue their dreams, develop their talents, and reach for the stars.

Congratulations to our 2026 scholarship recipients. We cannot wait to see all that you accomplish.

Buy a Musical Instrument Day

Okay… serious question…

If you could instantly learn to play ANY instrument, what would you choose? 🎶

🎸 Guitar
🥁 Drums
🎷 Saxophone
🎹 Piano
🎻 Violin
🎺 Trumpet
Or something totally unexpected?

Music has a way of bringing energy, creativity, and confidence into people’s lives, and today is the perfect excuse to celebrate that.

At the AGL Over The Rainbow Foundation, we love seeing students explore the arts and discover talents they may not have even known they had.

So today:
🎵 Turn the music up
🎵 Support young musicians
🎵 Dust off that old instrument in the closet
🎵 Or finally buy the one you’ve always wanted

Drop your dream instrument in the comments ⬇️

Congratulations, Class of 2026 — you finally made it!

Enjoy the memories, laugh often, take chances, and do not be afraid to be yourself. Whether your future leads you into the arts, college, a career, or somewhere completely unexpected, keep moving forward and keep being unapologetically YOU.

Your voice matters. Your creativity matters. Your personality matters.

The world does not need another copy of someone else, it needs the real you.

We cannot wait to see what the Class of 2026 does next.

Stand up for what you believe in.
Be true to you.
Love who you are.
And shine bright.

May 3 | World Laughter Day

Today is a reminder of something simple, but powerful, laughter.

Laughter connects us, lifts us, and brings light into moments when we need it most. It’s often found in shared experiences, creativity, and the joy that comes from doing what you love.

At the AGL Over The Rainbow Foundation, we see that joy come to life through the arts, on stage, through music, in creativity, and in the moments that make people smile.

Today, take a moment to laugh a little more, share a smile, and bring a bit of light to someone else’s day.

April 22 | AGL Day

Today is Alex’s birthday. He would have been 27.

He loved the arts and had a way of bringing energy and personality into everything he did.

Today is a good day to keep things simple:
Support the arts
Encourage someone pursuing their passion
Do something kind for someone else

We’re thinking of him today and every day💚.
