A quiet monument to the seasons.

As the vibrant emerald of summer begins its slow retreat, the landscape reveals its deeper textures. This silvered silhouette stands as a prelude to winter—a time of stripping back, of stillness, and of the raw beauty found in the brittle.

There is a profound elegance in this transition, where the wild prepares for its period of rest.

June marks the third year of collaboration with from Prescott, Arizona. Preparation is underway for the upcoming Project Jumbo Shoo trip, and anticipation is high for this final phase.

This marks the concluding year of the project. Work during this trip focuses on perfecting and finishing the Jumbo Shoo system, a virtual fence designed to keep elephants safe and mitigate human-wildlife conflict through innovative seismic technology.

It has been an inspiring journey watching these engineering minds apply their skills to real-world conservation challenges in Southern Africa. The goal is to see the final system completed and ready for full implementation.

Be on the lookout for news, updates, and behind-the-scenes content as the participants arrive and the final phase of gets underway.

There is a profound stillness found in the untouched landscapes of the bush. Taking a moment to observe the natural environment offers a rare sense of perspective and a much-needed breath of calm. It is within these quiet spaces that we find the true value of conservation.

The bond between a rhino cow and her calf is central to the species’ social structure and survival. Observation of these interactions provides vital insights into the health and stability of the population within the reserve. ERP remains dedicated to the ground-level monitoring and protection required to maintain these natural behaviors.

There is a quiet wisdom in the slow, deliberate movement of a tortoise across the red earth of Melorane. To see these ancient creatures thriving is to witness a landscape in a state of grace.

The discovery of new hatchlings is more than a momentary joy; it is a profound testament to the restoration of this wilderness. These small, delicate lives are the ultimate validation of a healthy reserve—an indicator that the delicate balance of soil, moisture, and protection has reached a point of true harmony.

At ERP, we understand that a thriving ecosystem is measured not just by its giants, but by the quiet survival of its smallest residents. Every new shell discovered is a promise kept to the land and a sign that the cycle of life is once again unfolding as nature intended.

Preserving our aquatic ecosystems requires constant vigilance and a dedicated commitment to conservation. A series of illegal fishing nets were recently identified and removed from the waters at ERP Melorane Game Reserve.

These unauthorized nets pose a significant threat to the biodiversity of the dam, often trapping non-target species and disrupting the natural balance of the environment. Removing these hazards ensures a safer habitat for the wildlife that depends on this water source for survival.

The focus remains on patrolling these areas and safeguarding natural resources from exploitative practices to ensure the long-term health of the reserve.

Significant infrastructure progress is underway on the ERP Game Reserve. 🌿🛤️ #

Constructing new dirt roads through the heart of the Southern African bush is no small task—it demands meticulous planning, specialised machinery, skilled teams, and unwavering respect for the fragile wilderness ecosystem.

These new routes will substantially improve access for staff, visitors, rangers, maintenance crews, and emergency services, while greatly enhancing time efficiency across all reserve operations and activities.

We remain fully committed to responsible, low-impact development that safeguards this special environment for generations to come.

Did you know the white rhino is a true gentle giant of the savannah? 🦏

• They can sprint up to 50 km/h despite their massive size.

• Their wide, square lips are made for grazing lush grasslands.

• They’re surprisingly social, often seen in small groups called “crashes.”

Let’s protect these incredible creatures. Donate at the link in our bio.

From city streets to reserve roads.

The Tour de Melorane is the endurance ride that sets the stage for the Bikes4ERP bike drop. Cyclists leave Pretoria and push through long kilometres to reach the ERP Game Reserve, carrying more than just gear with them. They bring momentum, purpose, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

When the ride ends, the real impact begins. The bikes built and delivered during the bike drop help children travel safely to school, turning every kilometre ridden into an investment in education and opportunity. 🚲

The journey is tough. The reason is simple.
