2 Chicks In A Kitchen...

Danielle and I are both entrepreneurs. She started an eco-friendly cleaning service which she still runs and I am an Indie Film Maker and Director. But both of our professions don’t always keep the lights on. It’s been said never quit your job until your business can replace your income. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m passionate about Directing stage and film and Danielle has always been passionate about food. For as long as I’ve know her she has cooked for her family, friends and even strangers and me...well I’ve always had a passion for cooking for friends, colleagues, and family.

Last Tuesday after pounding the pavement and getting doors slammed in our faces one too many times, Danielle asked me if I ever thought about “slangin’ plates”. Now I’m from the old school, a Northern girl from Baltimore with a 20 year age difference between us~whereas Danielle is a Southern sweetheart, Atlanta bred, corn-bred fed and still down with the lingo and this new generation. Once she explained to me what the term “slangin’ plates” meant, I said, “I never thought about it, but hey, why not?” THUS BORN “EATS-TO-GO”!

Eats-To-Go is a unique mobile catering service where we sell and deliver healthy home cooked meals (lunch, dinner and twilight) orders on the go. We prepare, cook and deliver! We both give God all the Glory for choosing us to entrust this vision to because we literally put our heads together, came up with a healthy menu and a savvy name on Tuesday and by Saturday we had clients placing orders and our business was up and running!

Sometimes when the doors you choose don’t open for you, trust there’s a good reason and trust God! He knows what’s best for us! Had it not been for one disappointing, frustrating day, this would not have happened! So thank you to all the employers and rejection letters! God had something better!
