Cherokee Masonic Memorial Club The Cherokee Masonic Memorial Club consists of members of Masonic Lodges in and around Cherokee County, GA.

The purpose is to provide for its members and to assist the local lodges in paying our last sad tribute of respect to our deceased brethren.

Jerry Neal Stewart
Jerry Neal Stewart, age 81, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at his home. Jerry was a member of Hightower Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ancil and Ruby Stewart; brother and sister in law, Junior and Nellie Stewart; sisters and brothers in law, Mary and Tad Martin, Evelyn and Garston Green, Lillian and Edwin Mullinax, Louise and Roger Smith, Margie and David Hitt, Farris Payne; brothers in law and sisters in law; Janice and Raford Grindle, William and Ruth Payne; granddaughter, Cheyenne Heard Stewart; father in law and mother in law, Herbert and Dessie Payne.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Payne Stewart; children, Timmy and Nichelle Stewart, Travis and Pam Stewart; grandchildren, Justin and Macy Stewart, Jodi and Timothy Podskoc, Ancil and Tiffany Stewart, Jeb Stewart; great grandchildren, Maddie Stewart, Kate Stewart, Haze, Ella and Eva Podskoc; brother and sister in law, Jackie and Arlene Stewart; sister and brother in law, Brenda and Tommy Estes; sisters in law, Jessie Payne, Joyce Blevins and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerral Richards, Rev. Jackie Stewart and Rev. Joey Stewart officiating.

Masonic service will complete the service.

Interment will follow at Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to a children’s hospital of your choice.

Bill Miller Obituary
Bill Miller, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1944, in Calhoun, Georgia, to the late Benjamin and Bonnie Miller.

Bill proudly served his country and was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He was a faithful member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Hickory Flat Masonic Lodge #205, and the Cherokee Shrine Club. After his military service, he built a long, dedicated career with General Motors, retiring after 31 years. During that time, he also served as President of UAW Local 10 Region 8, where he was respected for his leadership and commitment to his fellow workers.

Above all, Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who deeply loved his family. He was a hard worker in every sense, reliable, steady, and always willing to lend a hand. His love, strength, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Polly Miller and daughter, Jane Miller. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joey Moss (Jayson); grandsons, Jackson Moss and Judson Moss (Avery); as well as beloved extended family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors rendered by the U.S. Air Force and Masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sosebee Funeral Home.

Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Ellis





Born in Canton, Georgia, on March 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Jackie Lee and Elsie Lee Ellis.

Dr. Ellis was a devoted husband, father, and servant of the Gospel. He earned a Doctorate in Theology from Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctorate in Divinity from the Piedmont College of Theology. For many years he faithfully served as pastor of Zion Temple Church of God, guiding his congregation with compassion, integrity and spiritual vision. In addition to his pastoral work, he was a dedicated Mason—member of Canton Masonic Lodge No. 77, where he served as Past Master and longtime Secretary—and a committed Shriner with the Yaarab Shrine of Atlanta, including service as a “Roadrunner,” transporting children to Shriner Hospitals. He also served as Past President of the Cherokee Shrine Club.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Haney Ellis of Ball Ground; his children, Dr. Celena (Pastor John) Pierce of Ball Ground, Georgia; Dr. Richard Ellis of Augusta, Georgia; Lisa (Craig) Cobb of Ball Ground; Angel Haney of Ball Ground; and Ray (Hope) Haney of Canton, Georgia; his sister Hazel Kinsey of Cleveland, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. A funeral service in honor and celebration of Dr. Ellis’ life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home, with Pastor Dottie Williams officiating. Masonic Honors will be presented by Canton Lodge No. 77. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park.

Dr. Ellis’ life embodied service, faith, and love. He leaves a legacy of spiritual leadership, community engagement, and family devotion that will be celebrated and cherished by all who knew him.

It is with heartfelt sadness that I find it my duty to inform you of the passing of our esteemed Worshipful Brother James “Webster” Cole. WB Cole was a member of Duluth Lodge #480 and Woodstock Lodge #246, a 50+ year Mason, and a Shriner.

WB Cole's visitation will be at 10:00am on Saturday, October the 18th at Woodstock Funeral Home with memorial services to follow at 11:00 am.

Please join both Lodges as they deliver Masonic Memorial Services.

The Cherokee Masonic Memorial Club will assist with the Masonic Memorial Services. All memorial club members participating in the Masonic Memorial Services should arrive early at the funeral home by 10:30 am.

Brethren, we will hold our first meeting of 2019 next Tuesday, January 15. We will meet at Sharptop Lodge #680 between dinner and the opening of the School of Instruction. This should be a short meeting but we do have By-Law changes to be read for the first reading. Copies will be available. Please come and join us.

The Cherokee Masonic Memorial Club exists to assist lodges in performing our last sada tribute of respect to a brother. Members is open to any Master Mason in good standing. Members dues are a one time $50. For that the brother will receive a funeral apron, tie, boutonniere clip and arm band- more than a $50 value. It is with heartfelt sadness that I find it my duty to inform you of the passing of our esteemed Brother Robert Richard Eldridge. Brother Eldridge was a member of Woodstock Lodge #246.



The family invites you to his visitation at Poole Funeral Home on Friday, March the 2nd from 6 – 8 pm.



Services will be held at The Poole Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March the 3rd at 2 pm.



The Cherokee Masonic Memorial Club will be conducting the Masonic Graveside Services.



Woodstock Lodge Members are asked to be pall bearers.



All memorial club members participating in the memorial service should arrive early at the funeral home by 1:30 pm.



Interment will take place afterwards at Cherokee Memorial Park at 120 Memorial Drive, Canton, GA 30114.

Obituary for Robert Eldridge

Mr. Robert “Captain Bob” Eldridge. husband of Gail McCullen Eldridge, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2018 at Kennestone Hospital at the age of 81.

Funeral services for Mr. Eldridge will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Poole Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Arsenault officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton. Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Poole Funeral Home.

Bob was born June 2, 1936 in Lynn Massachusetts, to the late Robert and Marjorie Pierce Eldridge. Mr. Eldridge served in many different communities as a volunteer fireman for a total of over thirty years. He was retired from the United States Air Force after twenty-three years of service. Bob was a member of Woodstock Masonic Lodge #246, and was a Ham radio enthusiast, call sign W1YFH.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son Christopher Eldridge.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughters, Beth Riley and husband Barry of Ft. Worth, TX. Pat Palmer of UT; sons, Frank Eldridge and wife Carol of San Antonio, TX. Russell Eldridge and his wife Ellen of Woodstock, GA; step son Curtis Anderson and his wife Kim of Anniston, AL; sister, Marjorie Gordon of Sunderland, MA; brother Philip Eldridge and his wife Rita of Chandler, AZ; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and “one in the hanger”, as well as a host of other family and friends.

The Cherokee Masonic Memorial Club will assist Blaine Lodge #534 in paying our last sad tribute of respect to Brother Carl E. Owenby. The services will be on August 25, 2016 at Cagle Funeral Home in Jasper at 2 PM. The brethren are asked to gather at the funeral home no later than 1:30 PM. Interment will be at the Antioch Baptist Cemetery following the service. The Club will perform the graveside service.
