Georgia Businesses: Support Public Safety While Reducing Tax Liability

Do you operate a business in Georgia? Corporations can redirect up to 75% of their GA State Tax Liability to CCPSF through the LESS Crime Tax Credit. This is a powerful way to invest in safer neighborhoods, stronger policing, and community trust — all while fulfilling existing tax obligations.

Last night, members of our 2026 Ambassador Council spent time with two of the most emotionally demanding and critically important teams in Cobb County: the Special Victims Unit and SafePath Children's Advocacy Center, Inc..

This visit was not lighthearted. It was not easy. It wasn’t meant to be.

Our ambassadors witnessed the heartbreaking realities faced by children and families in crisis — and the extraordinary professionals who stand with them. At SafePath, we learned how their mission to reduce the trauma to children and their families guides every step of their work, creating a space where young victims can begin to feel safe again.

At the Special Victims Unit, ambassadors saw the relentless dedication of investigators who carry the weight of some of the most painful cases imaginable. Their work is quiet, meticulous, and often unseen — but it changes lives.

To the teams at SVU and SafePath: thank you for opening your doors, for trusting us with your stories, and for showing us the courage it takes to protect the most vulnerable among us. Your work is heavy, but it is heroic.

May we honor it by continuing to learn, advocate, and stand with you.

The LESS Crime Tax Credit, established under Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 48-7-29.25), provides a unique opportunity for taxpayers to directly support local law enforcement by redirecting a portion of their state income tax liability to qualified public safety foundations, such as the Cobb County Public Safety Foundation.

This is a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit—meaning contributions are not additional taxes, but a reallocation of funds that would otherwise go to the State of Georgia.

Through this program, individuals can contribute up to $5,000, married couples up to $10,000, and corporations up to 75% of their state tax liability, creating a powerful funding mechanism for local public safety initiatives.

The impact to the Cobb County Police Department is significant, as funds are used to directly support officers through enhanced training, critical equipment, and mental health and wellness programs—resources that are often difficult to fully fund through traditional budgets.

What Is the LESS Crime Tax Credit?

Redirect Your Georgia Taxes to Support Cobb County Public Safety Body: The LESS Crime Tax Credit allows Georgia taxpayers to redirect a portion of their state income tax liability to the Cobb County Public Safety Foundation. This is a dollar for dollar tax credit — not an extra donation — meaning you choose to invest your tax dollars directly into local law enforcement initiatives.
