Summertime is here!

☀️🐾 HEAT ADVISORY FOR PET PARENTS! 🐾☀️

Just because the air temperature feels manageable doesn’t mean the ground is safe for your pet. Asphalt can reach dangerous temperatures in minutes and cause painful burns to sensitive paw pads.

🔥 77°F Air Temp = 125°F Asphalt
🔥 86°F Air Temp = 135°F Asphalt
🔥 87°F Air Temp = 143°F Asphalt

At 125°F, paw pad injuries can occur in as little as 60 seconds.

🐶 Before every walk:
✅ Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds.
✅ Walk during early morning or evening hours.
✅ Stay on grass whenever possible.
✅ Bring water for both you and your pet.
✅ Watch for signs of heat stress or paw discomfort.

Remember: If it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for their paws.

From everyday companions to pets impacted by disasters and emergencies, every animal deserves safety, care, and the chance to stay with the families who love them.

At Nomadic PUPs, we’re building a community of pet lovers, nomadic travelers, pet care professionals, and volunteers dedicated to making a difference—one paw at a time. Through Mobile Animal Safety Camps (M.A.S.C.), disaster response initiatives, reunification efforts, and educational programs, we’re working to ensure no pet is left behind.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom—including the loyal military working dogs who served beside them. ❤️🤍💙🐾

Their courage had no limits.
Their loyalty knew no bounds.
Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

🔥 Just because it feels warm to us doesn’t mean it’s safe for them. 🐾

Every summer, pets suffer preventable heat injuries—burned paws, dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke… tragedies that can happen in minutes.

A few simple precautions can make all the difference:
🐾 Avoid hot pavement & asphalt
🚫 Never leave pets in parked vehicles
💧 Keep fresh water available
🌅 Walk during cooler morning/evening hours
⚠️ Know the warning signs: excessive panting, weakness, vomiting, collapse

Nomadic PUPs (People Uniting Pets) exists to provide pet care solutions for the nomadic pet population and animals affected by disasters. Our primary focus is serving pets in disaster zones through the deployment of Mobile Animal Safety Camps (M.A.S.C.), which provide life safety resources, rescue coordination, veterinary and grooming support, relocation assistance, and family reunification.

We also provide education and training, including preparedness, traveling safely with pets, grooming, and the development of Mobile Animal Safety Teams (M.A.S.T.).

But we can’t do this alone.
