Flint River Community Center, in partnership with the Office of Youth Services, is hosting a FREE Public Speaking Workshop on Wed., Aug. 12, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. at Flint River Community Center, 153 Flint River Rd., Riverdale, GA 30274.

Adults ages 18–24, this interactive workshop is your chance to:
• Build confidence and speak with power
• Strengthen communication and leadership skills
• Master body language and storytelling
• Overcome stage fright through fun, high‑energy, hands‑on activities

Sharing a Volunteer Opportunity

Our volunteers, known as “Blanketeers,” provide new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to children up to 18 years old who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need. Volunteers can be as young as 8 (with adult supervision).

All blanket styles are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets in child-friendly colors. Always remember that blankets must be new handmade, washable, free of pins, and come from smoke-free environments due to allergy reasons.
