More Juneteenth stories and photos!

Marcia Robinson told a story about Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth.

Vern Bailey included music and song in her healing story for Juneteenth, titled There is a Balm.

Janine Hall told the storytelling of Elizabeth “Mumbet” Freeman, the first woman slave to win her freedom, in a court of law Massachusetts, in the 1700s.

Lady B recited the beautiful poem by Maya Angelou, Still I Rise.

Marcia Jeffries was in charge of the trivia questions at the end of the Juneteenth program, to see who was paying attention! Haha! The first person to answer the question correctly won $5.00!

The Southern Crescent Storytellers celebrated their annual Father Goose Tales, just the guys telling stories, at the Peachtree City Library on Saturday June 13, 2026. Pictured here are Ralph Hodge, Ryan Davis, and Neal Peeples.

Ryan, Neal’s grandson, did a great job telling an African folktale about Anansi, the trickster spider.

Neal entertained the audience with his unique rendition of the Three Little Pigs.

Carter was listening intently to his grandfather, Ralph’s, story and “hanging” on every word. 😃
