Its all fun and games until it works.
Let me tell you about my guy. My guy here joined the ranks in skydiving here back in April at a Dive 22 event we held in Sebastian, FL where he did his first tandem. Well he just did his 69th jump today and he is working at the dropzone.
I won’t waste time with a fancy worded post. He’s a multiple deployment combat veteran and before he came and jumped at our event, while he was always a good dude, he was getting dusty and tired and his ass was sitting on the couch and not doing much with the duration of his time here on earth(his words).
I started my non profit for this reason and this reason alone when I stopped drinking. Wanted to use my platform to invite these folks to come go with me. Jumping worked for me to find my purpose in my timeline and it is working for Bobby. Not only is he up and moving with a purpose again, he set up this entire event up for us this weekend, he found the sponsors, he donated his time and money, he ran an awesome raffle and gave away some great stuff. All while he was working. Not to mention he brought another veteran today that we talked into jumping that was not going to jump at all, but I’m sure is going to start jumping now!
Needless to say skydiving Is “Dangerous”, but it is a great asset in certain peoples lives(those who jump) and it has become an asset for Bobby. He has been on fire ever since his first jump and now he holds value and greatness that he feels within himself again(his words). It is safe to say he’s flying again when he was very much grounded in his own ways. All I’m saying is its working.
Hes the fourth jumper out of over 150 that have jumped with us, to get his license after jumping at one of our events and now he has his own thing jamming for veterans. Congratulations on your new life, it looks amazing on you. You didnt find skydiving, skydiving found you my guy. I love ya pal and we thank you for being a and a huge part of Dive 22.
