What does recovery look like? It looks like a warm bed after years of instability. It looks like meals shared around a kitchen table. It looks like counseling sessions, quiet moments of prayer, and mothers reconnecting with their children.

At House of Cherith, healing doesn't happen in a single moment. It happens through the everyday rhythms of safety, support, and community.

Every room in our homes play a role in helping women and families rebuild their lives after trafficking, addiction, and exploitation.

When people think of trafficking, they often picture strangers. But in nearly 74% of minor trafficking cases referred for residential care, the trafficker was a family member.

Familial trafficking can happen behind closed doors, making it harder to identify, report, and escape. Survivors often face layers of trauma, betrayal, and instability that require specialized support and long-term care.

At House of Cherith, we provide safe housing and comprehensive services for women and families recovering from trafficking, addiction, and exploitation. Through programs like our Mommy & Me Program, we help survivors build stability, strengthen family bonds, and move toward lasting healing.

Human trafficking and exploitation thrives in silence. Prevention starts with awareness.

As Atlanta gears up to welcome the world for the World Cup, it's important to understand how major events can create increased vulnerabilities for those at risk of exploitation.

Knowing the signs, understanding the risks, and sharing resources can help protect vulnerable individuals in our communities.

Awareness isn't about fear, it's about being informed and prepared to make a difference.

Read our latest blog: How Awareness Helps Prevent Exploitation and learn how you can be part of prevention efforts in Atlanta and beyond.

At House of Cherith, we believe awareness matters. Education matters. People matter. 👏

We created a resource page to help our community learn warning signs, understand the realities of trafficking, and discover ways to help protect vulnerable individuals during large events like the World Cup.

Learn more, share the resources, and join us in bringing awareness to this issue.

A safe place to land doesn't happen by accident.

It takes a community of people who decide to keep showing up for women rebuilding their lives after the traumas of sexual exploitation and trafficking.

Through Fight Club, your monthly gift becomes housing that's truly safe, counseling that doesn't have a deadline, families that get to heal together, and women who get to rebuild their lives.

Join the journey. Join the fight. hocatl.org/fightclub

We had an incredible time cheering on as they took on another challenge for the Longest Marathon Dodgeball Game! 👏

Our residents and staff loved making signs, showing support, and celebrating alongside a team so dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking. We’re so proud of their commitment, endurance, and passion for fighting for freedom. 💙

Not only did they complete this amazing challenge, but they also raised over $100,000 to support the fight against trafficking. What an incredible impact!

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re honoring the power of therapy, counseling, and trauma-informed care in the healing journey of the women we serve at House of Cherith.

For survivors of trauma, abuse, and exploitation, mental health support can be life-changing. Through counseling, residents are given space to process pain, rebuild trust, rediscover their identity, and step into the life they were created for.

Healing takes courage. Asking for help takes strength. And no matter your story, it is never too late to heal. ✨

False!!

Trafficking doesn’t have a “look.”

While vulnerability can increase risk, trafficking can happen to anyone across all backgrounds, communities, and circumstances.

Mother’s Day can hold joy, grief, hope, and healing all at once. 💙

Today, we honor the mothers at House of Cherith who are courageously rebuilding their lives, healing from trauma, fighting for recovery, restoring relationships, and choosing hope every single day.

We see the moms who are grieving.
The moms working toward reconciliation.
The moms learning to forgive themselves.
The moms starting over.
