2026 MILLAGE RATE PUBLIC HEARINGS
The City of Chamblee is hosting three public hearings regarding the 2026 millage rate. In December 2025, the City Council adopted a general fund budget of $35,992,731 for Fiscal Year 2026.
The proposed millage rate of 7.25 mills, compared to the current rate of 6.25 mills, will result in an increase in property taxes by 23.47 percent over the rollback millage rate. The proposed rate represents a one-mill increase over the City's current 6.25 rate. For example, the proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $525,000 would be approximately $275.60, and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $1,700,000 is approximately $723.15.
Three public hearings will be held at the Chamblee City Hall, located at 3518 Broad Street, Chamblee, Georgia 30341, on:
• Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
• Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.
• Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
"Chamblee has held the millage rate steady for seven years, and that record matters to the Council, me and our staff," said Mayor Brian K. Mock. "Our residents have come to expect a superior level of service, with public safety, parks, recreation and infrastructure we can be proud of. Like every household and every business in our City and country, we are dealing with cost increases across nearly everything we do. The Council and I are approaching this decision carefully, publicly and with respect for the residents we serve. We want to hear from residents and encourage them to attend our public hearings."
