Our Charlotte Days for Girls team has several members that help on Carol’s Pillowcase Crew. We are so proud to be a part of her team and help children at Ronald McDonald House.

Some people give comfort. Carol and her Crew stitch it one beautiful seam at a time. 🧵❤️

For more than a decade, this talented group has created handmade pillowcases, Christmas stockings, masks and other thoughtful items for our families. As Carol shared, “Our time together has helped us as much as the pillowcases help those we give them to.” Thank you, ladies, for turning fabric into comfort and friendship into purpose. NOTES & UPDATES Saturday, August 8th Sew

Hi Everyone,

We had a fun Sew Day last Saturday
This month is our 8th Anniversary. Hard to believe we have been helping girls locally and around the world this long. CONGRATS to us 🎉🎈

The team assembled 100 Days for Girls kits that are for local distribution this month and Sept.
Welcome to Kirsti's daughter Erica who came for the first time, and Connie's daughter Marissa. Both girls helped with kit assembly.

It was a very busy day after the kits were assembled:

- Bags were getting marked, tags glued and then sewn on. Finished Bags were getting ribbons added

- Carry Pouches ends were serged

- Shields were being sewn

- Liner strips were being serged, Liners were being marked and some were being final serged

Show and Tell (hopefully I remembered everything):

- IPOD Stand/Pillow

- Fleece Stuffed Animals

- Quilted Potholders

- Quilted Baby Blanket

- Beaded Beetle

- Handstitching piece

- Donated Queen size Quilt top (we need to finalize the plans for finishing)

Special Thanks:

- Even though Sheila isn't able to attend sew days in person, she is still sewing Bags and Shields for us-thanks Sheila!!❤️

- Pam has been at it again and has 14 Dog Beds ready to be donated🐶

- Wingate University Back to School event Thursday, August 20th 5:00-7:00pm. We will give out DfG kits, Menstrual Cups and talk about Days for Girls

- Block Party-fundraiser event downtown Monroe, Saturday, August 22nd 10am-3:00 pm

- Native American Cultural Center Market, Kit distribution, Saturday, September 26th, 9:00am-1:00pm in Rock Hill, SC

- Wingate University Health and Wellness Fair at Monroe Science Center in Monrow, Saturday, September 26thth, 10am-2:00pm

NOTES AND UPDATES SEW DAY JULY 11

Hi Everyone,

It was so good to see everyone that was able to attend last Saturday. It's always a fun day!

New Comers:

- Welcome to Kirsti Ehlers from Just Serve. Everyone loved talking to you about Days for Girls and thanks for your help as well!

- Welcome to Danelle Holbrook (Sharon Tam's friend), thanks for all your help stuffing Breast Cancer Pillows!

We hope you both had fun and will come back again.

Thank You:

- To Natalia for bringing us some yummy muffins

- To Judith for bringing us beautiful vegetables from her garden

Updates:

- We had an awesome day with all 4 of our Days for Girls components being worked on in one form or fashion.

- We now have over 100 kit components sewn and ready for assembly at our August Sew Day.

- I'm dropping off 176 Comfort Pillows and 76 Drain Pouches tomorrow (7/16). A big thank you to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church for partnering with us on this delivery!

NOTES: JUNE 13TH SEW DAY

Hi all,
Here are the notes and updates from Saturday's Sew Day.

Welcome back to Nicole & Sharon!! We are so glad you came back again and we look forward to seeing you a lot more!

We had a very Productive Day, Thank you to each and everyone of you that helped with these projects!

- 124 Shield pieces and pockets were matched and are ready for sewing
- 33 Blankets were sewn and topstitched for Preemies of the Carolinas. They were shipped Sunday and per tracking they should receive Tuesday. We had heard via Project Linus they had a shortage so we wanted to help using our small baby flannel pieces

DfG Count Update: We haven't done this since we gave everything away in April at the collection event.
