Dear ABC Members,
The Board of Directors is committed to keeping our membership informed about decisions that affect the future of the American Brittany Club. As part of that commitment, we want to share an important update regarding membership dues.
Following a recommendation from the Finance Committee, the Board has approved an adjustment to annual membership dues. Effective January 2027, Full Membership dues will increase from $50 to $60 annually, and Associate Membership dues will increase from $5 to $20 annually.
This is the first increase in membership dues in more than a decade.
Over those years, the cost of operating the club has continued to rise while membership has gradually declined. Like many organizations, ABC has experienced significant increases in expenses, particularly in areas such as printing, mailing, technology, insurance, and other operational costs. Although the Board has worked to manage these increases without raising dues, it has become clear that doing so is no longer sustainable.
The recent transition to a digital-first magazine is one example of the steps being taken to responsibly manage expenses. Likewise, this modest dues adjustment is intended to strengthen the club's financial foundation, support ongoing member services, and provide greater financial stability as we continue implementing the magazine transition, including an optional printed magazine subscription for members who prefer that format.
Membership in ABC represents far more than a magazine subscription. As the AKC Parent Club for the Brittany, ABC works to preserve and promote our breed through education, health initiatives, field and conformation programs, judges' education, national events, youth development, and stewardship of the Brittany's future. Every membership helps make that work possible.
We recognize that any increase in dues deserves thoughtful consideration. This decision was made only after careful review of the club's financial outlook and with the long-term interests of ABC and its members in mind.
