โ€œDoes the CEO have the WILL use her power to return every acre of ICP to the PEOPLE?!โ€โ€ฆ Where thereโ€™s a will, thereโ€™s a way!!!
๐ŸŒณ
DeKalb cannot continue to ignore the thousands of residents who continue to oppose & urge the return of 40 acres of park TO THE PEOPLE! Residents lost valuable parkland & natural resources that are now threatened by DATA CENTER DEVELOPMENT. ๐Ÿ‘Ž no, no, no.

US to tell the CEO: Shiny new park infrastructure cannot replace the public greenspace we lost. Require the 40 acres and return ALL OF OUR PARK!

Tell DeKalb County: Return ICP to the People!
๐Ÿ›‘
No Data Centers on the Swapped Parkland! Ryan Millsap, Blackhall Studios, is on the verge of selling 40 acres of land that was public land to a Data Center developer. Tell CEO Cochran-Johnson and the Board of Commissioners this must not happen.
๐ŸŒณ
The land is intended to be protected by law in perpetuity for public use. DeKalb must do what is right and return ICP, in its entirety, to the people.

This Thursday, April 30 @ the Atlanta Film Festival!

For decades, Dr. Jackie Echols has fought to protect the South River and the communities along its banks. But when plans for โ€œCop Cityโ€ threaten one of Atlantaโ€™s last remaining forests, her fight becomes part of something larger.
This is a story about land, power, and the communities forced to carry the cost.

Show Time: 7:30 pm at the Tara Theater .

Peoplestown is located in the Intrenchment Creek basin (South River watershed). The neighborhood is downhill and downstream of major development and highways, leading to massive stormwater runoff, sewage overflows, and flooding that have burdened generations of residents.

City of Atlanta has promised Peoplestown relief for decades with no follow through. Atlanta has invested in effective solutions that capture more stormwater for Old Fourth Ward Park and Rodney Cook Park in Vine City (both in the Chattahoochee watershed). Now, Atlanta is giving Peoplestown (Intrenchment Creek, South River) the ineffective leftovers.

To effectively and significantly reduce flooding: Stormwater needs to be captured and/or mitigated upstream โ€“ at the source. The City of Atlanta must require private land owners to capture more of the stormwater on site before it rushes downstream and floods Peoplestown.
