On March 12th my amazing mother was born in Charleston, SC. It has been almost 20 years since God has called her home. She was truly the BEST mom a person could ever have. She was the oldest of 5. She had the voice of a hummingbird always leading the choir, and always receiving requests to sing at other churches and at funerals. She had some of the best girl friends who knew us like their own: Ms Rosa Bell, Ms Essie Mae, Ms Bernice and Ms Willie. She and her girlfriends would spend hours on the telephone, at their homes, at church, participating in club activities and providing support to her friend's business Ms Bell at Wi******er.

My mom was strong, obedient, had empathy for others, dependable, and caring. She was a giver to many she didn't know and to those she did know. The salt of the earth!

I thought 20 years later it would be easier to talk about my beautiful mother. But I find it harder especially on her birthday and on mother's day. If your parents are still living I ask that you cherish each day, each moment with them and make great memories! My mother was my Best Friend. She and I had a very tight bond. I will NEVER forget her last words to me before she passed on, I will forever be grateful!
