The organization's mission is to foster a love of chess and provide opportunities for young people to learn about the game, play, and improve their skills. The Northwest Georgia Chess Club is a youth program that meets at the Rome Floyd County Library. The NGCC is for students in grade 6-12 living in Floyd County or the Northwest Georgia region. The club's mission is to foster a love for chess by

teaching young people about the game, providing opportunities to play, and giving players the chance to improve their game. The NGCC welcomes players of all skill levels, from those who have never played before to experts. In addition to games our meetings feature pizza, puzzles, and prizes and allow teens to socialize and have a good time. The NGCC also provides the chance to learn from experienced chess players for those who are interested. The NGCC provides opportunities for our players to play matches against other club teams and pursue tournament play. The NGCC is also committed to recognizing its members accomplishments: within the club, to its players' schools or homeschool groups, and to the broader community.
