We’re excited to announce that our new Atlanta Alumni Chapter website is officially live!

Our former website, www.purple-knights.org, has transitioned to our new home:

www.staugatl.org

As we prepare for our 2027 Car Raffle & our 22nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball, we invite you to visit the new site and stay connected with everything happening with the Association of St. Augustine Alumni – Atlanta.

On the website, you’ll be able to find information about our current and upcoming fundraisers, special events, the Mardi Gras Ball, our Atlanta Chapter, and the work we continue to do in support of St. Augustine High School.

You can also learn more about the history of our Atlanta Alumni Chapter, what we’ve accomplished over the years, what we’re doing today, and connect directly to information about our beloved alma mater.

And there’s much more coming!

Our 2027 Car Raffle officially launches October 1, so stay tuned for all the details on your chance to win this year’s vehicle while supporting our mission.

A special shout-out and thank you to our Website Committee, led by Brother Raymond Brown ’09, for all of the work that went into bringing our new website to life.

HISTORY IS ABOUT TO MARCH DOWN ST. CHARLES AVENUE!

Clark Brennan, Captain of the Krewe of Bacchus, just announced that for the first time in Bacchus history, an alumni band from a New Orleans high school will march in the parade.

And that band will be the St. Augustine High School Marching 100 Alumni Band.

What a way to celebrate 75 years of St. Augustine High School.

On Sunday, February 7, 2027, generations of Purple Knights from their 20s to their 60s will come together, pick up those instruments again and march as one.

These are men who once marched the streets of New Orleans as young Purple Knights. Now decades later, they will return as alumni and make Mardi Gras history all over again.

Bacchus rolls at 5:15 PM from Napoleon and Tchoupitoulas, through Uptown, down St. Charles Avenue and Canal Street, and on to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

For a school whose Marching 100 helped break the racial barrier in New Orleans Carnival in 1967, this moment is especially powerful.

75 years of St. Augustine.

Generations of Purple Knights.

One Marching 100.

History will march again.

February 7, 2027.

You better be on St. Charles Avenue.

Purple Knight forever. 💜💛

2027 Mardi Gras Ball

On Saturday, January 9, 2027, the Association of St. Augustine Alumni Atlanta, Inc. proudly presents our 22nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball, an elegant Black-Tie Gala & Fundraiser with a purpose far greater than the celebration itself.

For more than three decades, our Atlanta Chapter, established in 1994, has remained committed to supporting the young men of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. And for 22 years, the Mardi Gras Ball has helped us turn that commitment into action by raising funds for student scholarships, educational resources, school improvements, and opportunities that help prepare these young men for the future.

This year is especially meaningful as St. Augustine celebrates 75 years of excellence, tradition, brotherhood, and achievement.

So yes, we’ll dress in our finest. We’ll celebrate. We’ll dance. And we’ll experience the magic of Mardi Gras.
But the real reason we gather is the young men of St. Augustine High School.

Every ticket purchased. Every sponsorship. Every contribution. Every person in the room helps us continue a legacy that reaches far beyond one incredible night.

22 Years of Celebration.
75 Years of Legacy.
One Mission.

Every year, the Association of St. Augustine Alumni Atlanta Chapter hosts our annual cookout as a way of saying THANK YOU to everyone who supports us throughout the year.

Your support of our events and fundraisers makes it possible for us to continue giving back to our alma mater, St. Augustine High School.

This year, we were proud and grateful to give back $115,000 to St. Aug.

That does not happen without YOU.

To every supporter, sponsor, friend, family member and alumnus who purchased a ticket, attended an event, made a donation or simply helped spread the word, thank you. Because of you, we are able to continue supporting the young men of St. Augustine High School.

And now, we begin again!

Next week is our first fundraiser toward our 2027 contribution, and we hope you will join us as we start another year of giving back.
