Casa de la Cultura of Atlanta is an Institute of Culture based in Atlanta dedicated to teach and educate the Latino children through the arts: In music, dance, language, history and oral traditions for the preservation and dissemination of the Latin American cultural legacy. Participants will be involved in the formation of music and dance Hispanic traditional performing groups known through Spain
and Latin American as: estudiantinas, rondallas, choir ensembles, folk ensembles, and dance groups. Casa de la Cultura-Atlanta houses a music professional faculty, media arts wing and class rooms that provide an invaluable resource for the following:
• An educational environment for concerts-performances
• A forum for guest presenters and artists that will enhance one-on-one interchange, discussion and dialogue.
• An arena for contemporary, traditional and classical performances.
• A facility for cataloging, archiving and recording that can be used for future research and instruction. Casa de la Cultura-Atlanta already has an established professional ensemble through the Atlanta Virtuosi Foundation: A Concert Series, Artist Series and Educational Outreach Program that would incorporate and enhance the general community in all events and performances. As an integral part of the program the programming would serve to enrich the multicultural initiatives and global perspective and mission of the Atlanta-Buckhead Consortium as stated.
