**WHITE OUT CSA Day | A Message from Founder Angela Williams šŸ¤ Stand for Survivors**

April 30th is more than a day…
It’s a movement.

In this heartfelt message, Angela Williams, Founder of Angela’s Voice, shares the purpose behind **WHITE OUT Child Sexual Abuse Day**—a day to stand in solidarity with survivors, honor their stories, and protect the innocence of children.

Every year, millions of children are impacted by abuse—often in silence.
WHITE OUT CSA Day is about breaking that silence.

šŸ¤ We wear white to:
• Honor survivors and their courage
• Bring awareness to the reality of child sexual abuse
• Encourage conversations that protect children
• Stand together to end stigma and shame

This is a call to action.

Today I turn 61 šŸ¤

And I can honestly say… I’ve never been more at peace with who I am.

Life has stretched me, broken me, healed me, and shaped me—but through it all, I’ve learned what truly matters.

I’ve learned to let go of perfection…
To release expectations…
To walk away from what isn’t healthy…
And to finally live present—instead of in fear or insecurity.

I’ve learned to welcome love… not shut it out.
To trust again… even when it’s hard.
To be who God created me to be—and not apologize for it.

And above all, I’ve learned this…

✨ Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest gift I’ve ever received—and the greatest gift I can ever give.

I’m grateful for every lesson.
Every season.
Every person who has been part of my journey.

And today, I choose to celebrate life—fully, boldly, and with purpose.

If there’s one thing I would say to anyone reading this…

Be real.
Be present.
Be you.

And don’t wait… live your life today. šŸ¤

**This is the age my abuse began…**

I was just a child.
Innocent. Trusting. Unprotected.

What followed were **14 years of abuse** that nearly stole everything from me—my voice, my worth, my will to live.

There came a moment when the pain felt unbearable…
and I attempted to escape it by taking **64 sleeping pills**.

I truly believed it was the only way out.

**But God had another plan.**

He saved me.
He restored me.
And He gave me a voice to speak for the children who cannot yet speak for themselves.

Today, I share this not for sympathy—
but so someone else knows:

šŸ‘‰ **You are not alone**
šŸ‘‰ **Your story is not over**
šŸ‘‰ **There is hope beyond the pain**

If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts or ideations…
**please tell someone. Please get help. Please stay.**

You matter more than you know.

---

**āš ļø The reality we cannot ignore:**

• 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will experience sexual abuse before age 18
• Survivors are significantly more likely to struggle with depression, anxiety, and PTSD
• Individuals with a history of childhood trauma are **2–5 times more likely** to attempt su***de
• Su***de is one of the leading causes of death among youth in the United States

---

We must do better.

We must **protect our children**,
**believe survivors**,
and **break the silence** that keeps this cycle going.

**šŸ’” 220 Million Children… Every Year**

Let that sink in.

**220 million children worldwide are sexually abused each year.**

This is not just a statistic—
this is a global crisis.

These are innocent children…
betrayed, silenced, and left to carry pain no child should ever endure.

šŸ™ Today, we pray for innocence.
šŸ™ We pray for protection.
šŸ™ We pray for justice and healing.

But we must also act.

āš ļø We must educate ourselves and others
āš ļø We must talk to our children about safety
āš ļø We must recognize the signs
āš ļø We must be willing to step in and speak up

Because every child deserves to grow up safe.
Every child deserves to be heard.
Every child deserves to be protected.

**We cannot stay silent about something this serious.**

**šŸ’” 42,000,000 Voices… and Counting**

Let that number sink in.

**42 million survivors of child sexual abuse in the United States.**

That’s not just a statistic—
that’s millions of childhoods altered, voices silenced, and lives forever impacted.

Behind every number is a story.
A child who deserved protection.
A survivor who deserves healing.

And the truth is… many more have never reported.

šŸ™ Today, we pray for healing.
šŸ™ We pray for courage to speak.
šŸ™ We pray for justice and restoration.

But we also take action.

āš ļø We educate ourselves
āš ļø We have the hard conversations
āš ļø We learn the signs
āš ļø We step in when something doesn’t feel right

**šŸ’¬ The Conversation Most Parents Avoid… But Can’t Afford To**

Most parents never talk to their children about the risk of sexual abuse.

Not because they don’t care—
but because it feels uncomfortable… scary… unthinkable.

But here’s the truth:

āš ļø Silence does not protect our children.
āš ļø Avoidance does not prevent abuse.

**Education does. Conversation does. Courage does.**

Our children need to know:
āœ”ļø Their body belongs to them
āœ”ļø They can say NO—even to adults
āœ”ļø Secrets about their body are not okay
āœ”ļø They can come to you—no matter what

And they need to hear it from **you first.**

šŸ™ Pray for courage to have the hard conversations
šŸ™ Pray for wisdom to guide and protect
šŸ™ Pray for our children to be safe and empowered

Because one conversation could change everything.

**šŸ” Break the Cycle. Protect the Next Child.**

This statistic is hard to read… but we cannot look away.

**About 30% of abused children may go on to repeat the cycle of abuse.**

Not because they are ā€œbrokenā€ā€¦
but because trauma, silence, and lack of intervention can shape behaviors in devastating ways.

This is why **prevention, early intervention, and healing matter so deeply.**

We are not just responding to abuse—
we are working to **STOP it from continuing into the next generation.**

šŸ™ Pray for our children
šŸ™ Pray for survivors
šŸ™ Pray for the courage to speak up and intervene

But prayer must be paired with action:

āœ”ļø Educate yourself on the signs
āœ”ļø Have open, honest conversations with your children
āœ”ļø Create a safe space for them to speak
āœ”ļø Support organizations working on the front lines

Because every time we protect a child…
we don’t just change one life—
**we change generations.**

**āš ļø Know the Signs. Protect a Child.**

Child sexual abuse is one of the most underreported and misunderstood forms of abuse.
The hardest truth? **Most children don’t tell.**

That’s why we must learn to recognize the signs.

A child who is being harmed may not come right out and say it…
but their **behavior, emotions, and even physical symptoms will often speak for them.**

You may notice:
šŸ’” Sudden mood changes, fear, anxiety, or withdrawal
šŸ’” Age-inappropriate sexual behavior or knowledge
šŸ’” Avoidance of certain people or places
šŸ’” Regression (bedwetting, thumb sucking)
šŸ’” Physical discomfort, pain, or difficulty sitting/walking
šŸ’” Isolation or loss of interest in things they once loved

āš ļø One sign alone may not confirm abuse—
but **it should NEVER be ignored.**

As parents, caregivers, educators, and advocates…
we are the front line of protection.

šŸ’¬ Ask the hard questions
šŸ‘‚ Listen without judgment
šŸ¤ Believe them
🚨 Take action if something doesn’t feel right

Because early intervention can stop ongoing abuse and begin the path to healing.

**Children are counting on us to notice what they cannot say.**

Wear white. Raise awareness. Be their voice.

**šŸ’” The Silent Suffering of Boys**

When we talk about child sexual abuse, too often we leave boys out of the conversation.

But the truth is—
**boys are significantly less likely to report abuse.**

Why?

Because many are taught from a young age:
āŒ ā€œBe strong.ā€
āŒ ā€œDon’t cry.ā€
āŒ ā€œHandle it yourself.ā€
āŒ ā€œThat didn’t really happen to you.ā€

And even more dangerous…
āŒ ā€œBoys can’t be victims.ā€

So they stay silent.

They carry the confusion, the shame, the anger… alone.
And that silence often follows them into adulthood—impacting relationships, mental health, identity, and self-worth.

āš ļø Many male survivors don’t disclose until decades later—if at all.

We must change this narrative.

šŸ’¬ We must tell our boys:
āœ”ļø You are allowed to speak up.
āœ”ļø What happened to you matters.
āœ”ļø You will be believed.
āœ”ļø You are not weak—you are courageous.

And as parents, caregivers, and advocates…
we must **ask the questions**, create safe spaces, and listen without judgment.

Because boys need protection too.
Boys need a voice too.
Boys deserve healing too.

šŸ¤ Let’s break the silence—for ALL children.
