When housing is unstable, school can become harder to reach, harder to navigate, and harder to stay connected to.

Next Thursday, Georgia Appleseed is bringing together housing and education partners for Stable Homes, Strong Schools — a free cross-sector conversation focused on Clayton, Henry, and Spalding counties. Together, we’ll explore how stronger local partnerships can help children and families access support earlier, before instability pushes them further from school, services, and community.

Where: Henry County Chamber of Commerce
When: May 14, 2026 | Lunch at 12 PM | Panel at 1 PM

Teacher Appreciation Week is a chance to recognize how much educators carry every day.

At Georgia Appleseed, we work to improve the systems around schools—because when students get the support they need, teachers can focus on teaching.

We’re grateful for the role teachers play in creating safe, supportive classrooms where every student can learn and succeed—and for the teachers who made a lasting impact on so many of us.

“This is something much bigger than we ever thought it was going to be.” - Liz McDaniel

We’re proud to see the See Me exhibit featured in Imprint, highlighting artwork created by youth with lived experience in foster care—offering an honest look at healing, identity, and belonging.

Through See Me, Georgia Appleseed works with youth to turn their experiences into art—creating a space to share their stories on their own terms while helping policymakers and communities better understand what it means to grow up in foster care.

Visit the See Me page to learn how you can help elevate and respond to these voices.

This is what showing up for justice looks like. Because of this community, Georgia Appleseed is able to expand our work keeping kids in school, strengthening behavioral health supports, and advancing housing justice across the state.

Together, we raised over $446,000 at Roaring for Justice—fueling the work ahead and the families we serve every day.

Thank you for showing up, giving generously, and believing in our mission. There’s more to do, and we’re just getting started.

If you missed the event but want to be part of this work, you can still give here: https://gaappleseed.org/roaring-donation/

Georgia Appleseed was proud to join the Student Services Department of Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) for the Moving with Taste community event supporting children living in hotels and motels throughout Clayton County.

Events like this help students feel seen, supported, and connected to their school community. We’re grateful to partner with leaders like Judge Wright and our team members Darlene Lynch and Fatima Santillan to show students they have a network behind them—working to keep them in school and on a path to graduation.
