Need 25.56 – Husband Abandons Wife and Children

We are working to help a mother and her children after the husband/father abruptly abandoned them last month. The family of four was functioning well while also dealing with the grief of losing a child. Last month, the husband unexpectedly left the home, cleared out their joint bank account, and has not been seen or heard from since. The mother has been left scrambling, working 12-hour days, trying to catch up. They are now facing eviction and need our help to prevent them from being homeless. They need $1,850 to catch up on their rent, and we want to help them through this difficult time by stabilizing their housing.

Great being at today sharing OneNeed with their Phoenix Area church networking group. This cross was made from the stakes the contractors used to plan the building. When done the members of the church wrote payers on the stakes and they built this cross with them. They are celebrating their 100th year of ministry in Chandler this year. We are beyond thankful for our partnership with them.

We alert you today to a single father of four (15,11,9,7) who needs help with his rent. He has sole custody of his four children, and their mother has supervised visits with the children every other week. He has a strong history of providing for himself and his children even through hard times with his family. He worked in management at an international airport. An employee spat in his face in the break room, and he reacted by hitting a refrigerator. He was put on leave for a few days and then fired. He has worked hard to find new employment and is back to work. However, he is short $900 on their rent and facing eviction. We want to help him through this difficult time and help him with this portion of his rent. We are confident he can sustain himself going forward.

We alert you today to a single mother with a 12-year-old son who is doing her best to provide while fighting through illness. Last year, she spent seven months in the hospital with Guillain-Barré syndrome. She has recovered and is still living with Lupus. She has held the same position with her company for three years, but recently suffered from a flare-up that has caused her to miss time at work. She does not receive any child support and does not have any family she can lean on during this time. She is back working full-time but needs help covering this month’s rent. We want to help her by paying her $1,600 rent this month.

We alert you today to a 25-year-old single mother of two who has suffered significantly over the last year and is struggling to get back on her feet. Last July, she was brutally assaulted by her husband and survived multiple severe knife wounds. Her husband was arrested and charged. In March, he was convicted and received the maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. She thought it was over, but his family blamed her for his incarceration and retaliated against her. His mother and sister vandalized her car at her place of work. They created additional drama at her work location that led to her being let go from her customer service job. Additionally, his mother had co-signed the lease on the apartment they were living in and recently revoked the lease. She was forced to leave the apartment two weeks ago and has been living in her car for the last two weeks with her one-year-old daughter. She’s been looking for work and was offered a good job in home health. We want to help her by providing her with four weeks in a hotel and a month of daycare for her daughter. This will allow her to begin work and find permanent housing.
