Open Door Community The Open Door Community is a group of disciples of Jesus who began in Atlanta GA, now headquartered in Baltimore MD, & lives in diaspora. We are mendicants.

We serve some of the most oppressed & marginalized of God’s children - especially those living in poverty and prison Our Mission

The Open Door Community is a group of disciples of Jesus which began in Atlanta GA but now has headquarters in Baltimore MD, and lives in diaspora. We seek to serve some of the most oppressed and marginalized of God’s children—especially those living in poverty and in p

risons. We live out our vocation through these concrete actions:

• Proclaiming God’s bold vision for the “Beloved Community” by opposing the evils of poverty, racism, sexism, and hetero-sexism, and by publishing our newspaper, Hospitality.

• Advocating for the abolition of the death penalty in all jurisdictions.

• Providing pastoral and financial support for our siblings in prisons.

• Being responsible stewards of our financial resources which are dedicated to the pursuit of our mission and the care of our surviving Elder Partners.
