September is Pet Memorial Month

We lost the name sake of 2nd Chance, but if not for him we could not have done all the magical life saving we did for 16 years.

We still currently have 6 remaining in our custody that need homes. We are happy to report our Moon went to her forever this weekend.

Still looking for homes. Only 5 more days until we are closed. Please continue to share so we can place them in homes. If you cannot adopt, can you consider a donation before we close? We still need to feed them even after our doors close as a rescue.

Our Moon,
We rescued Moon as a puppy. She was adopted and lived with a family that had little girls and she was well loved. Unfortunately, the family fell into hard times and had to return Moon to us. She misses having a family of her own very much.

Moon celebrated her 3rd birthday with us in rescue.

Fully vetted, spayed and microchipped. Up to date on her heartworm meds and flea/tick meds.

She is a very sweet, well mannered, and quiet girl who would do well in any setting (even an apartment). She would prefer a home with no feline friends as they are to fun to chase.

Our Ruthie

Ruthie was a joint save. Another rescue asked for assistance with a litter and we stepped in to help and got two littles - Ruthie and Charles (now Mikko). She has been in rescue since she was 4 weeks old and will be turned 1 on February 9, can we not find someone who will understand her medical needs.

Ruthie is playful and still wants to run but she was diagnosed with juvenile hip dysplasia. She doesn’t let that stop her but we do make sure she does not over do it. And make sure we manage her pain. She has been very good with her exercise and we have managed any issues by monitoring her activity.

She is in home with other dogs and does good with them. She has no real interest in cat. Has had no issues with male or female dogs. She is completely up to date on shots, been spayed and microchipped along with monkey tick/flea/heartworm meds.
