Gratitude and Thanks to YOU!

All the joyful holidays and family gatherings remind us of gratitude for family and special friends. Gratitude, it’s baked into our name at Thanks Mom & Dad Fund and reminds us of all the good work you make possible for so many older adults throughout the year!

As 2025 approaches, we want to wish you and your families the very best. Please continue to walk alongside us as we seek out how we can best fill more gaps in services and help more people, the people who showed us the way – the older adults who helped us learn and live fully.

Thanks Mom and Dad Fund's Health and Social Services Forum was a big success!!

Last week, Thanks Mom and Dad Fund held a Health and Social Services Forum to discuss the importance of connecting social services and medical care to provide holistic services to seniors.

Our Keynote Speakers, Dr. Adrienne Mims, Chief Medical Officer for Rainmakers Strategic Solutions and Dr. Theodore Johnson, Chair of Family and Preventive Medicine with Emory gave captivating remarks on the importance of factoring the social and environmental impact on health and the need for referring supportive services.

Representatives from the aging network, social services, and medical professionals that participated on the panels provided additional information on services available and support needed.

Appling County Senior Center is now encouraging seniors to stay mobile with its new fitness equipment purchased with a senior center grant. Physical activity helps improve physical and mental health and promotes strong bones and muscles to reduce falls.
