RACE for the Orphans

RACE for the Orphans RACE for the Orphans is an annual 5K race that helps raise funds for families who are opening their hearts and homes to adoption.

Through your participation, RACE for the Orphans, Inc., is helping bring children home to their forever families. Founded in 2013 with a vision for Raising Awareness Compassion and Education about the needs of orphans around the world, the annual 5K RACE has grown to over 700 participants and volunteers…all committed to raising money for area adopting families.

We are thrilled to share that Robert and Jennifer Kramlich of Peachtree City, one of our 2026 RACE Grant Recipients, were blessed with a baby girl yesterday through the miracle of adoption. Hope was born on May 20th and is doing very well. Please keep these first time parents and Hope‘s birth parents in your prayers.

More than 800 runners and walkers filled downtown Newnan on May 2 for the 14th annual RACE for the Orphans 5K, helping raise a record-breaking $100,000 to support families in the adoption process.

Organizers with the Newnan-based nonprofit said the total marked the largest fundraising amount in the event’s history and was enough to fully fund the adoption expenses for all five selected grant recipient families.

Despite uncertain weather conditions leading into race day, participants, volunteers and sponsors turned out in large numbers to support the cause.

“This is actually the best news,” co-founder Kelly Preston said. “Those funds enabled us to get all five of those families to the finish line.”

Congratulations to Will Ponder and Annika Gompers for winning this week’s Atlanta Track Club Grand Prix Wingfoot Mile!
At the 14th Annual RACE for the Orphans 5K on May 2nd, Will placed 2nd in the men’s 5K and Annika won 1st place in the women’s 5K.

BIG NEWS!!!
The RACE for the Orphans Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that more than $100,000 was raised at this year’s RACE!
This is the most ever raised through the annual event, and these funds will be distributed to the 2026 RACE Grant Recipients to help bring more children HOME! We truly appreciate all participants, volunteers, donors, and sponsors for your support of adopting families…to God be all the glory!
And we hope to see you on May 1, 2027 at the 15th Annual RACE!
