The Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has launched a new project to highlight and support the identification and documentation of Black heritage sites across the state. Georgia’s Full Story hopes to recognize and identify places and stories unique to the lived experience of African American Georgians. The final product will be an updated resource guide to usher in more nominations of Black heritage into the National Register of Historic Places in Georgia. The Willow Hill Heritage & Renaissance Center present: A Taste of Struggle- A Meal of an Enslaved People. This foodways event will take place April 29th from 1pm to 5pm and will include cooking observations, storytelling, reenactments, and museum tours. There will be 100 meal donation tickets priced at $80 for the general public and $50 for seniors and students.
