Atlanta SCAR (Sickle Cell Awareness Ride)

Atlanta SCAR (Sickle Cell Awareness Ride) SCAR is an acronym for Sickle Cell Awareness Ride. The purpose of the Atlanta SCAR is to heighten awareness of Sickle Cell Trait and Sickle Cell Disease. INC

The first annual Atlanta SCAR was held September 8, 2012, in College Park, GA. After thorough deliberation, the decision to dissolve S.C.A.R. was made on January 20, 2025. This decision was made with great care and consideration. We remain committed to the Sickle Cell community, and to making sure awareness is made and support is given. We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to

those that supported our mission over the years. Special thanks to all the motorcycle clubs, social clubs, and independent riders who rolled with us from day one! The contributions made to this organization have been invaluable, and we are grateful for the strides you all have made in helping us to champion! Please continue to engage with the Sickle Cell community, there is still much work to be done! We appreciate your understanding as we navigate through this transition. Sincerely,
Lisa M. Dean-Touray
