Visitability is a movement to change home construction practices so that virtually all new homes — not merely those custom-built for occupants who currently have disabilities — offer a few specific features making the home easier for mobility-impaired people to live in and visit. Several people have asked for a more detailed definition, noting that the list of required features has not been identi
cal in all Visitability-type legislation, handouts and other materials. Builder by builder, city by city, policy by policy, the change is already beginning to happen in parts of Arizona, Texas, Illinois, Georgia and many other locales. Join Concrete Change in advocating these changes to builders, buyers, governments and other housing initiatives. We offer many resources here to help you in your efforts, and welcome your support in our quest for ‘Visitability’.
