As nears, this is an important season for La Promesa Honduras.
Throughout the year, our feet are on the ground full time here in Honduras sharing stories when we can, keeping close to our hearts stories that cannot yet be told, and trusting in God for the provision to continue to do this work. Our work in Honduras is strengthening children, families and communities through competent and compassionate care. Today that means LPH’s Tamara Robinson is driving an hour outside of town to attend the kindergarten graduation of young J who lives in a children’s home. LPH has walked with J for several years of his young life providing intervention, protection, transition services, and continuing with counseling and support. Even a kindergarten graduation seemed unimaginable for this young boy several years ago. Today, we celebrate J and all of his accomplishments and the people on his team.
Yesterday our work meant LPH’s Christy Owen attended the Deaf school’s graduation, cheering on not only the students and families but the teachers and staff who have worked tirelessly to provide a Christ-centered education to Deaf children in Honduras. This week and the next two weeks, our work means our technical team made up of our psychologist, Leana, and our social worker, Ana, are out on the field everyday visiting foster families and children’s homes rounding off the year with small Christmas celebrations, monitoring, and ongoing therapy.
As you consider your charitable giving during this season, we invite you to join with La Promesa Honduras in His work in Honduras building bridges between tragedy and hope for those who are most vulnerable and at-risk. Our work here is not possible without your partnership. Please consider a gift to the LPH General Fund this coming .
