ဒီနေ့ကျရောက်တဲ့ လူ့အခွင့်အရေးနေ့ကို ကျွန်တော် စိတ်လက်ပေါ့ပါးစွာနဲ့ မဆင်နွှဲနိုင်တဲ့ အကြောင်းကတော့ -
ကျွန်တော့်မေမေ ဒေါ်အောင်ဆန်းစုကြည်ဟာ အထီးကျန်စွာနဲ့ မတရားချုပ်နှောင်ခံနေရဆဲ၊ လူတိုင်း ရရှိသင့်တဲ့ အခြေခံအခွင့်အရေးတွေ ကန့်သတ်ခံနေရဆဲ၊ ထောင်ပေါင်းများစွာသော နိုင်ငံရေးအကျဉ်းသားများ ဖမ်းဆီးနှိပ်စက်ခံနေရဆဲ၊ ကျောင်းတက်နေတဲ့ ကလေးငယ်တွေ သတ်ဖြတ်ခံနေရဆဲ၊ အများက လွတ်လပ်မှုလိုချင်တဲ့အတွက် ပြည်သူတွေဟာ ကြောက်ရွံ့စွာ နေထိုင်ရဆဲ အခြေအနေကြောင့်ပါ။
မေမေက “လူ့ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာကို အသိအမှတ်ပြုမှသာ လူအခွင့်အရေးကို သိတယ်” လို့ အမြဲပြောခဲ့ပေမဲ့ ယနေ့ မြန်မာပြည်မှာတော့ လူ့ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာ၊ အမှန်တရား၊ တရားမျှတမှုတွေကို အကြမ်းဖက်အာဏာရှင်က နေ့စဉ် ချိုးဖျက်နေတာပါ။
ဒါပေမဲ့ မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေရဲ့စိတ်တွေကို ချိုးနှိမ်လို့မရပါဘူး။
သူတို့ရဲ့ရဲရင့်မှုတွေကို တိုးတိုးတစ်မျိုး ကျယ်ကျယ်တစ်ဖုံ အားရဖွယ် မြင်ရကြားရပါတယ်။
နိုင်ငံရေး အကျဉ်းသားတွေဟာ သူတို့ရဲ့မျှော်လင့်ချက်တွေကို လွှတ်မချလိုက်ဘူး…
မိဘတွေဟာ သူတို့ရဲ့ကလေးတွေကိုကာကွယ်နေဆဲ…
လူငယ်တွေဟာ သူတို့ရဲ့အနာဂတ်ကောင်းတခုကို အိပ်မက်နေဆဲ…
အဲဒီသူတွေက လူ့အခွင့်အရေးနေ့ရဲ့ နှလုံးသားပါ။
ကျွန်တော် ကမ္ဘာကို တောင်းဆိုချင်ပါတယ်—
မြန်မာပြည်ကို မျက်နှာမလွှဲလိုက်ပါနဲ့။
မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေနဲ့ ရပ်တည်ပါ။
မေမေနဲ့ နိုင်ငံရေးအကျဉ်းသားတွေကို လွှတ်ပေးဖို့ တောင်းဆိုပါ။
လူတိုင်းရရှိသင့်တဲ့ အခွင့်အရေးတွေကို ကာကွယ်ပေးပါ။
လူ့အခွင့်အရေးဟာ မြန်မာပြည်အတွက် အိပ်မက်မဟုတ်ပါဘူး— လူဖြစ်လာတာနဲ့ ရရှိရမဲ့ အခွင့်အရေးပါ။
တနေ့မှာတော့ တကယ့်တန်ဖိုးရှိတဲ့ လွတ်လပ်ခွင့်ပြန်လည်ရရှိရမယ်။
Today, on Human Rights Day, I cannot celebrate because my mother, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, is still held in isolation, denied her most basic human rights.
Thousands of political prisoners remain behind bars. Children are being killed in their classrooms. Entire communities live in fear simply for wanting freedom.
My mother always taught that human rights begin with recognising the dignity of every human being. Yet in Burma today, that dignity is shattered every day by a regime that fears truth, fears justice, and fears its own people.
But the people of Burma are not defeated.
Their courage — quiet or loud — is the strongest declaration of human dignity I have ever seen.
Every prisoner who refuses to give up hope…
Every parent protecting their children…
Every young person dreaming of a better future…
They are the heart of Human Rights Day.
I ask the world: please do not look away.
Stand with the people of Burma.
Demand the release of my mother and all political prisoners.
Defend the rights that no dictatorship has the authority to take.
Human rights should not be a dream for Burma — they are our birthright.
And one day, we will reclaim them.
