Ebola and Rebels Threats

Please pray for our churches in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I recently received this update from the bishop of our churches, John Mundola, about the situation there. It is dire!

“Hello Executive Director,
We hope you are doing well and that you have already returned to the United States.

We would like to update you on the Ebola virus which arose again in Goma, Bukavu and Ituri and because of that, the neighboring countries closed the boarders which makes life more and more terrible in the provinces under rebels reign, wherein no bank, no airport,...brief, no money movement. We theirefore, implore you to pray fervently for the Howfar members in D.R.Congo facing different issues (war and diseases). From now no one is allowed to enter or to leave the three provinces facing Ebola disease.

In addition, we also wish to inform you that last Friday, all church leaders were called by the M23 leaders where were told that all offerings will be deposited into the M23’s account. They informed us that they will avail their representatives and each church receive the very representative who will collect all the offerings and bring them to the chief leaders of the movement. So far our freight is that we have been wondering the future of our church projects without offerings.

Please keep us in your daily prayers because many lives (especially widows and old women) survive from the small offerings we collect in our churches.
