A Message from the Board of Directors regarding the future of The Alliance of Norcross-Peachtree Corners
Hi Friends,
Recently, as the Board of The Alliance of Norcross-Peachtree Corners, we announced that our founding Director, Terri Hoye, would be retiring effective at the end of the year. We could not be more excited for Terri and Chuck and all the future holds for them as they spend quality time with each other and their family, traveling and enjoying life together.
Without a doubt, this news came as a surprise to some of you, and we understand. We had known for some time and had taken time to pray, plan, and dream together as to how God would have us to move forward for the good of the community.
A number of years ago, Terri and I (Ferrell Brown) began mentoring a young pastor who desired to grow in the area of community transformation in significant ways.
Many years ago, Terri and I started mentoring and helping a young Pastor, Earl Williams, who had a deep desire to see communities transformed. While Earl had established himself as a great pastor within a local church, he felt called to the community. With discipleship from Terri and many others, Earl has become significant voice and impetus of action and involvement in the community through the birthing of a new ministry called Proximity Gap Network.
Prior to Earl launching Proximity Gap Network, he had been our first choice to follow Terri. With Terri's retirement, the time for someone to step in has come. After much prayer, consideration, and discussion, we, as a Board, have determined that this is still the best direction, though it will look somewhat different than we had first thought. With the formation of Proximity Gap, which provides many of the same services The Alliance has provided in the same area, and Earl's plans to scale and expand services, we felt the right thing to do was to hand over the reigns to him and Proximity.
Effective the end of 2023, The Alliance of Norcross-Peachtree Corners will be closing, with all remaining assets and ministry alliances being handed over to Proximity Gap Network. To have someone of the caliber of Earl Williams at the helm to continue the work begun through The Alliance NPC is an honor, and we could not be more excited over the future of community transformation here and across the state.
We acknowledge that there will be a learning curve for Earl and his team, and both Terri and the Board have committed to staying engaged to serve and assist Earl in this process. We look forward to even better and greater things for Norcross-Peachtree Corners in the coming years.
It is our hope and prayer that you will consider continuing your support of serving our community through Earl and Proximity Gap Network. Someone from The Alliance Board or from Proximity Gap will be in touch with our donors to enquire about continuing support. If you want to check the organization out, please go Proximity Gap Network
As a Board, please know that it has been a deep honor to serve our community together with each of you, and we are all committed to our ongoing work toward seeing transformation come to every area of our community.
With respect and love,
Ferrell Brown, Chair
