💙 Wellness Wednesday: Share a Little Kindness! 💙

A few kind words can make someone's entire day. This Wellness Wednesday, take a moment to leave a positive message for a friend, teammate, coworker, or family member. Whether it's a sticky note, text message, or compliment, your words have the power to brighten someone's day—and your own!

💭 Try leaving a message like:
✨ "You are stronger than you know."
✨ "I'm grateful for you."
✨ "Keep being amazing!"
✨ "Your smile makes a difference."
✨ "You've got this!"

Kindness isn't just good for others—it's good for you, too! Positive connections can help reduce stress, boost happiness, and support emotional well-being.

🧠 Strong Minds, a Special Olympics Healthy Athletes discipline, focuses on building resilience, managing stress, and developing healthy coping skills. One simple way to strengthen your mind is by practicing kindness and spreading encouragement to those around you.

Let's make today a little brighter—one positive message at a time! 💙

🏐 Wellness Wednesday: Serve Up Some Wellness! 🏐

Volleyball is a fun way to stay active, build friendships, and improve your overall health!

Playing volleyball can help you:
💙 Improve heart health and endurance
💪 Build strength in your arms, legs, and core
⚡ Increase balance, coordination, and agility
🧠 Sharpen focus and reaction time
🤝 Strengthen teamwork, communication, and confidence

This week, grab a volleyball and invite a friend or family member to play! Practice serving, bumping, or setting, or simply enjoy a friendly game. Even 20–30 minutes of movement can make a positive difference.

Remember: Every serve, every pass, and every smile helps build a healthier you!

🏈 Building Better Coaches for Our Athletes 🔴

On Friday, July 31, Special Olympics Georgia hosted a Coaches Clinic at our Norcross office, welcoming 19 coaches from Gwinnett County and surrounding areas.

The clinic covered bocce and flag football, giving coaches the opportunity to expand their knowledge, refresh their skills, and continue becoming the best coaches they can be for their athletes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and demonstrated their commitment to helping Special Olympics Georgia athletes succeed!

⚽ Wellness Wednesday: Kick It Into Gear! ⚽

Did you know that playing soccer is a great way to stay healthy while having fun?

Whether you're passing the ball, scoring a goal, or cheering on your teammates, soccer helps:
💙 Strengthen your heart and improve endurance
💪 Build stronger muscles and coordination
🧠 Boost focus and decision-making skills
🤝 Develop teamwork, communication, and confidence
😊 Reduce stress and improve your mood

This week, grab a soccer ball and challenge a friend to pass the ball back and forth, practice dribbling around cones (or water bottles!), or simply spend 15–20 minutes kicking the ball around. Every movement counts!

Remember: Wellness isn't about being perfect—it's about finding activities you enjoy and staying active.

📚 Learning today, leading tomorrow!

This past Saturday, we hosted a Coaches Clinic in Douglasville, where 12 coaches participated in classroom and hands-on training in softball, pickleball, basketball, and athletics.

These coaches want their athletes to be as successful as possible, and that success starts with knowledgeable, prepared, and dedicated coaches. Thank you to everyone who invested their time in becoming even stronger leaders for their athletes!

If your accredited agency needs or would like to host a Coaches Clinic, please reach out to Olivia or Santiago.

❤️ That's a wrap on the 2026 USA Games in Minnesota!

What an unforgettable week it was for Team Georgia. From incredible performances on the field, court, track, and mat to unforgettable moments of teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship, our athletes showed the country exactly what it means to represent Georgia.

Team Georgia brought home 35 medals and ribbons across athletics, cheer, gymnastics, unified golf, unified basketball, and unified softball, but the medals only tell part of the story.

The friendships made, personal bests achieved, barriers broken, and memories created will last long after the Games have ended.

To our athletes, Unified partners, coaches, families, volunteers, and supporters, thank you for making this journey possible. We could not be prouder of everything Team Georgia accomplished.

Congratulations, Team Georgia! 💙
