The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) established in 1946, is a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence, and security. AFCEA-Atlanta serves the greater Atlanta metropolitan region to include Dobbins ARB, Clay Air National Guard and Georgia Army National Guard Centers, the busiest international airport in America, 39 counties, dozens of Federal and State organizations, hundreds of Fortune 500 companies, and 6.1 million people, making it the 9th largest city in the US. The Chapter gives back to the community providing Teaching Tool Grants, awarding scholarships to promising local college-university students, incenting brilliant students with recognition at county/state science fairs, hosting small business industry days, offering critical support to the USO at Hartsfield Jackson AP during R&R flights and, hosting monthly luncheon-networking events featuring speakers from the region's most influential military-industry organizations.
