JP Soars & The Red Hots Light Up The Villages!

What an incredible night with JP Soars and the Red Hots. JP’s talent is something to behold — the way he moves between instruments is pure magic, and hearing him play that handmade cigar box guitar he built with his dad made the evening even more special.

The crowd loved every minute, and the energy in the room said it all. It was one of those nights where the music, the people, and the moment came together perfectly.

A huge thank‑you to Mark & Marcia for bringing us another unforgettable evening and for everything you do to keep the blues alive here in The Villages.

Another stop on our Delta Blues Mississippi trail — Mother’s Day at Hooker’s in Clarksdale!
We shared a great meal, good drinks, and plenty of laughs as we celebrated Mother’s Day together on the road. Even the rain couldn’t slow us down — we all got soaked making our way back to the van, but it just added to the memories.

Clarksdale continues to give us stories we’ll be talking about for years.

We are leaving Memphis and heading to Clarksdale, Mississippi. Bubba will be meeting us at the town hall when we all get there. It was way more than we expected. He had homemade bread for us made by all the locals, cheese straws, and fresh-brewed coffee. We all got situated, and then he started telling us about the history of Clarksdale. I can’t wait to see all the things he’s talked about. The history in Clarkdale is rich, our first stop when we got out of the van. were cat heads. Terry, the harmonica player, greeted us with some music as he was sitting on the front porch in a chair. Rogers Stoll, who owns Cathead, is from Dayton, Ohio. We sat and listened to the music, went inside the store, and saw the items for souvenirs. We’re all headed back in the van to finish the rest of our tour around Clarksdale, Mississippi. There is so much I could say, but this post would become a book. I finally was taken to the crossroads, which I have heard so much about in the land of Blues history. We had lunch at Stone Pony Pizza, which was delicious! It’s time to find our hotel, check in, and prepare for more fun tonight.
