The Atlanta Beltline has completed their Economic Impact Study for 2025, and sustained more than 91,000 jobs, generated $23 billion in economic impact, and helped catalyze more than $14.2 billion in private investment around the corridor, surpassing its original 2030 goal. The Council congratulates the Atlanta Beltline & Clyde Higgs, 2025 Council Chair and President & CEO of Atlanta Beltline, on this major milestone and continued impact across the region. We're proud to be continued partners with the Beltline as they continue their tremendous work.

Over the past 20 years, the Beltline has become far more than a trail network, serving as a catalyst for economic opportunity, small business growth, tourism, housing investment, and stronger community connections throughout metro Atlanta. With 2.5 million annual visits and a 15:1 return on public investment, it continues to demonstrate the lasting value of infrastructure and connectivity in shaping the future of our region.

Last Friday, the Council team was proud to volunteer and participate in the historic 2026 Carter Work Project with our friends at Habitat for Humanity! The week-long build returned to for the first time since its founding this year to build 24 affordable homes in Langston Park. Thousands of volunteers and 5 days later, the start of a new community stands in the Sylvan Hills neighborhood. Our staff was immensely humbled to contribute to this incredible accompishment through hands-on service work, supporting Habitat’s mission of creating safe, stable homes and stronger communities right here in Atlanta.

Shoutout to Rosalyn Merrick, Tia McCoy, and Jim Blackstone for bringing the energy all week and making sure we ended up covered in mud. Thank you all so much for your partnership and commitment!
