The son of a DeKalb County Firefighter and Local 1492 member is currently at CHOA in severe heart failure following his fourth open heart surgery. As Palmer continues his fight, he will remain in the hospital for the foreseeable future while his medical team determines the best next steps for his care.

In support of their family during this time, a page has been set up to share updates and provide a way for those who feel led to help with ongoing expenses.

‼️Urgent Call to Action‼️

🔥Firefighters in uniform needed today!

🚨Every local FD has administrative personnel in uniform today. Send them to the capitol!! We need the presence. This bill will help the Georgia Fire Service!

We now have confirmation that SB 143 (Rule of 80 – work and collect changes to the pension fund) will be heard by the House of Representatives Retirement Committee tomorrow from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Coverdell Building, Room 406.

Your presence is critical.

We are asking all available members to attend in uniform and show strong support. Please plan to arrive no later than 1:30 PM so committee members and attendees will see our presence as they enter the meeting.

If you have not yet done so, please continue to reach out to Retirement Committee members using the contact list previously provided.

A strong showing—both in the hallway and in the hearing room—will make a powerful impact.

The last records firefighters had of the warehouse were of a car parts business. Instead, inside was a building filled with flammable movie props and sets.
