Grant Announcement!: Two grants, two programs and a very grateful Raksha team.
We are so grateful to be one of the 8 organizations to receive the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association (GAPABA) Law Foundation (GLF) grant and one of 22 recipients of the Community Corps summer grants this year.
GAPABA Law Foundation
Last Tuesday, we joined fellow grantees, public interest scholars, and Atlanta’s AAPI legal community at Kamayan ATL on Buford Highway over great food and great vibes at GAPABA’s Donor Appreciation & Public Service Reception. This grant support will help us strengthen legal support for survivors who often face courtrooms and paperwork alone.
GLF began in 2005 as the nonprofit arm of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association. It has awarded over $400,000 in grants for legal internships, programs, and fellowships serving Asian Pacific American communities.

The Community Corps
Their support funds KHELA (Kids Healing, Empowered, Laughing, and Active), our program that uses autonomy and education as healing tools for South Asian children and youth who have experienced or been exposed to violence.
The Community Corps grew out of The Horizons School, an Atlanta alternative school that closed in 2016. Former teachers, students, and parents turned its legacy into grants for small local work that big funders often miss. What grew after one school closed its doors now helps local groups keep theirs open.
Since 1995, Raksha has offered confidential, culturally specific support to South Asian families across Georgia. Partners like these keep our doors open for survivors who have nowhere to turn in times of uncertainty.
Thank you, GLF and Community Corps. 🙏
