📣 Upcoming GPNA Vote: APS Redistricting

Shared neighborhood schools are foundational to Grant Park's community cohesion. Because both proposed APS redistricting Scenarios X and Y fracture our neighborhood across multiple elementary schools without a single-school option, the GPNA Education Committee has put forward a formal resolution.

This proposal will be discussed and voted on this Tuesday, September 15th. Read the full resolution attached and review the maps below:

Elementary Rezoning Community Initiative

Update on APS Rezoning Scenarios (12:30 PM, September 1)

Please note that Atlanta Public Schools has already revised the draft scenarios shared earlier today. The survey link has been updated with the current proposals under district consideration:

GPNA is closely monitoring the new drafts—especially Scenario Y, which proposes splitting Grant Park among three distinct zoned schools.

Given the fluid nature of these updates from Atlanta Public Schools, we are pausing further scenario breakdowns and images until the school district clarifies the final options. Please take a moment to make your voice heard via the official survey link above.

Something to get excited about....

It's happening. Let's be mindful of those around us.

🚧 Road work begins this week on the South Boulevard Complete Street Project.

Starting Wednesday, August 19, crews will begin resurfacing Boulevard SE from McDonough Boulevard to Woodward Avenue. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning at McDonough Boulevard and moving north.

Temporary lane shifts and closures will occur one lane at a time, but Boulevard will remain open to traffic. Please slow down, allow extra travel time and watch for crews and flaggers.

This work marks an important step toward a safer and more accessible Boulevard for everyone.

Summer is winding down! With school back in session, pool access shifts to weekends only.

Thank you to everyone who made a splash with us this outdoor pool season. We hope you’ve made some unforgettable memories!

As we wrap up the season, be sure to enjoy your last swim before Sunday, July 26, at 7:00 p.m.

The following outdoor pools will remain open weekends only from August 2–24, 12:30–7:00 p.m:

- Maddox Park
- John A. White
- Southbend Park
