Two powerful voices. One shared message.

At the Play It Forward Champions Reception, our keynote speakers were chosen because they represent the impact this work is designed to create.

Marvin McMurray, a Westlake High School senior and First Tee participant, shared how access to golf, mentorship, and opportunity helped shape his path and open doors for his future.

Najae Butler, a former First Tee participant and collegiate golfer, spoke to what that access can lead to over time, from skill development to educational opportunity.

Their stories were a reminder to everyone in the room.

The programs we support are not just activities. They are pathways.

Pathways that help young people build confidence, stay engaged, and discover what is possible for their lives.

Congratulations to Coach Tim Wynn, recipient of the 2026 Play It Forward Game Changer Award.

For decades, Coach Wynn has been a force in Atlanta, mentoring and developing more than 3,000 young people through his work with the ATL Vikings.

His impact goes far beyond the field. Through discipline, mentorship, and opportunity, he has helped shape futures, build confidence, and create pathways for success for generations of youth across Atlanta.

As Coach Wynn shared, this work is about giving young people something positive to focus on and a real chance to succeed.

We are proud to recognize his leadership, his legacy, and the lives he continues to change.

Last Thursday, we hosted our inaugural Play It Forward Champions Awards Reception, an evening that brought together an incredible community of leaders, partners, and organizations committed to making a difference across Atlanta and Fulton County.

Together, we celebrated a $948,550 investment in more than 140 organizations working to expand access and create opportunity through recreation, sports, and culture.

It was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we invest in people and communities.

We’re proud to play a role in supporting this work and even more excited about what’s ahead.

We’re proud to announce the selection of H.J. Russell & Company and FS 360, LLC—two black-owned general contractors chosen through a competitive process—to lead the transformative John A. White Golf Course & Senior Activity Center project. Their leadership not only propels progress on this historic community landmark, but also reflects AFCRA’s commitment to expanding access, opportunity, and excellence in premier public venues.

To continue the momentum, National Association of Minority Contractors – Atlanta Chapter is hosting a meet and greet today to share details and connect with interested contractors and partners.
