New backpacks, fresh school supplies and lots of excitement for the year ahead! 🎒✏️💚

Back-to-school season was extra special at Christian City as we helped children and families across two of our programs get ready for the classroom!

Our Healthy Families team distributed 50 backpacks to families and neighbors at Netherly Park in Union City, while 25 families in our Crossroads Foster & Adoption Program received backpacks and school supplies thanks to the generosity of Christian City residents, our Teen Board and Elizabeth Baptist Church.

We love seeing our community come together to help our kids start the school year feeling confident, prepared and ready to learn. 📚✨

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Peachtree City for investing in the mission of Christian City through a generous grant award to enhance our Thrive program and its workforce development initiatives.

Support from community partners like the Rotary Club helps us continue providing hope, healing and stability to children, families and adults who have experienced a crisis.

The latest Thrive Dinner & Discussion was a meaningful evening of conversation, reflection and community.

Hosted by Tri-Cities Church – East Point, the discussion focused on generosity through the story of the widow's offering (Mark 12:41–44; Luke 21:1–4), reminding us that God looks at our hearts and our willingness to use what we've been given to serve His purpose.

Our young adults shared with church members how they would use their resources to bless others if given the opportunity. We're grateful for partners like Tri-Cities Church and for every opportunity to help our Thrive young adults grow in faith, character and community.

We are incredibly grateful to volunteers from Atlanta Gas Light, Delta Air Lines and Elizabeth Baptist Church for dedicating their time and energy to serving at Christian City.

Their teams recently spent the day beautifying the Children's Village community by weeding, trimming bushes and trees and spreading fresh pine straw. Because of their hard work, these homes are even more welcoming for the children and houseparents who live there.

So grateful for our friends at the John and Polly Sparks Foundation, who visited Christian City this week! 💙

The Foundation has been a longtime supporter of our mission, a legacy that includes Mrs. Polly Sparks' own service on our Board of Trustees. Their impact can be seen across our campus, from our programs for children and families to our affordable senior housing and healthcare services.

During their visit, the Foundation got to see that growth firsthand and hear updates from our President and CEO, Keith Horton, on all that their generosity continues to make possible.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends at The Wilbert Group for spending the day volunteering at Christian City!

Their team completed resident requests like vacuuming and yard work, and beautified our campus by pulling weeds and spreading fresh pine straw.

As Chief Spiritual Care Officer, Paul Kinney, Sr. oversees the spiritual well-being of our residents, patients and staff each day. Whether he's leading chapel services, visiting residents, praying with someone experiencing a crisis of faith or simply being present, Pastor Paul helps ensure that everyone knows they are seen, supported and loved.

He says one of his greatest responsibilities is making sure Christian City's mission isn't just something people read, but something they experience every day.

"Our mission isn't just written on the wall... it's happening down the hall."
