Curlanda’s story is one of resilience, hope and transformation. 💙

At this year’s Community Champion Awards, Curlanda shared her journey from homelessness and uncertainty to finding stability, support and a renewed sense of purpose through Christian City’s Thrive Program.

Through Thrive, young adults facing homelessness, aging out of foster care or who are navigating difficult life circumstances receive housing, mentorship, life-skills education and guidance as they work toward independent futures. Curlanda’s story is a powerful reminder of the life-changing impact that support, encouragement and opportunity can have on someone’s life.

🎓 Congratulations to the Christian City Graduating Class of 2026!

We're proud to recognize a remarkable group of graduates this year from our Thrive and Safe Place programs. 5 of our graduates completed high school and two received their General Educational Development (GED) certificates. Their achievements are a testament to their dedication and we know they have bright futures ahead.

We are grateful for the families, mentors, staff and supporters who have encouraged these students throughout their journey and helped make this day possible. 💛

🏃‍♀️💙 Christian City was proud to once again sponsor Race for the Orphans, a powerful event dedicated to supporting vulnerable children around the world through foster care and adoptions, a cause near and dear to our hearts!

This annual race brings the Newnan community together for good, and we loved connecting with so many people who stopped by to learn more about Christian City’s Crossroads Foster Care & Adoption program. From supporting sibling groups to medically fragile children and children who have experienced significant trauma, our mission is centered on helping every child find hope, healing and a loving home.

Thank you to everyone who raced, volunteered, donated and helped make this year’s event so impactful. 💙

Christian City is WILD about our volunteers! 🐾🌿💚

We recently celebrated our incredible Volunteer Corps with a jungle safari-themed banquet. In 2025, an amazing 1,541 volunteers gave their time to serve at Christian City, contributing more than 15,250 volunteer hours throughout the year! 🙌

We also honored our top Volunteers of the Year:
🏆 Charlotte Gilpin — 648.25 hours
🏆 Sally Ford — 620.5 hours
🏆 Carrie Bradley — 477 hours

From serving residents and supporting children and families to helping behind the scenes, every volunteer helps bring hope, community and loving care to Christian City. Thank you for all you do! 💛

We were honored to welcome Rep. Lucy McBath back to campus, this time in celebration of Older Americans Month! 💙

During her visit, Congresswoman McBath toured our Active Senior Living Community, stopped by Martha Gaddy's beautiful home, and explored the ways seniors can get involved on campus. She also sat down with residents for a small forum to discuss the national issues that matter most to seniors, including Medicare and Social Security.

Foster care is where the story of Christian City began! 💙

In 1965, Christian City was founded by a group of compassionate community members who wanted to create a loving refuge for children in need of a safe home. What began with one cottage and 50 donated acres has grown into a 500-acre campus serving children, families and seniors through life-changing programs and support services.

Today, that mission continues through Christian City’s Crossroads Foster Care & Adoption Program, helping provide loving homes for children throughout Georgia, especially teens, sibling groups and children with special needs.

This Foster Care Awareness Month, we celebrate the incredible foster families making a difference every day and invite others to learn how they can help change a child’s life.

Building confidence for the future starts with understanding the basics!

This month, young adults in Christian City’s Thrive program heard from Angela Clark, an experienced Credit and Collections Analyst, during an impactful session learning about credit. From understanding how credit scores work to learning why they matter when applying for loans, housing and more, the conversation was full of practical advice and real-world insight.

Our young adults walked away with valuable knowledge that will help them make informed financial decisions for years to come.
